Man...with all these talk and Celtics badmouth from Doc he better bring the Clippers a championship.

His situation is far from Ray "Judas" Allen, so I don't hate Doc but he's doing thesame thing Ray did after leaving which is consistently spewing all kinds of stuff to the media to justify their phoniness

Everything isn't a bash against Doc. Saying that you wouldn't take KG at the expense of Deandre is just laughable.

Doc is sounding a bit like a used car salesman. I say this as a Doc fan.

I always say it's usually good for players to have an inflated opinion of themselves, and this is kinda the coaching way of doing that.

Doc's a media-friendly guy, he's gonna err on the side of saying things that are media-friendly vs an actual personal opinion.  Comes off a little slimy but a guy who's been in the system his whole life is gonna play to it.

I am sure that he was hoping the Clippers could get KG while keeping Jordan, though.  It makes perfect sense that a coach would want that.  KG's still a very good player with an amazing knowledge level and Jordan still has the talent to be a Chandler-type guy.

What is he supposed to say at this point?

I don't get the Doc bashing.

Danny traded him.  Maybe Doc asked for a trade, maybe he insisted on a trade, who knows, who cares.

He is gone and is trying to do whatever is best for his new team.

I do not see it either. This is just a coach doing good media work. Hes perfect for LA.

All this article made me want to do was watch Jordan and hope he can live up to that potential.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
This makes me wonder if he was part of the reason the Clippers were so stingy. Remember there was a rumor that he didn't want Bledsoe involved. Doc is following in Ray's footsteps by talking himself into a hole with Boston fans.

Sure thing, Doc.  ::)

Now how am I supposed to believe anything you've ever said?  DJ is basically Perk 2.0.  Good player, but not a game changer, and late game situation liability.

No GM in their right mind wouldn't trade DJ for KG.
I would trade DJ for KG's knee  ;D

"I couldn't get involved in that whole thing," Rivers said. "That was the strangest thing in the world. I was seeing the trade talks and I was saying, 'Wait a minute! We don't want to give away that guy!' We wanted that other guy too. That was the home run to get both.

"[Jordan] is just too young and too gifted to let walk out your door, bottom line. He's a game changer defensively. He can single-handedly change a game with his defense. There's five guys, and that number maybe too high, that can do that single-handedly with their size and athleticism and he's one of them. When you have one of those guys, you want to keep them."

Doc is saying there are five guys who have the size and athleticism to change a game defensively the way DeAndre Jordan is capable of. And he is right. DeAndre Jordan is a freakish athlete with his size (6-11), muscle (260lbs), length (9 foot 6 inch), overall mobility, multiple jumps, and explosive quickness + leaping ability.

DeAndre Jordan is a very talented young defensive player who can be a game-changer defender. He just needs to do it on a more regular basis. But the things he can do, the plays he is able to make on the defensive end of the floor, are incredibly impressive and only a handful of NBA players are able to make them. Doc is right on the money in what he is saying.

Of course Doc is going to say that he wanted Jordan.  He has to coach him, and he needs DJ to buy in to the Chandler role on that team.

I, along with many NBA observers, feel that the Clippers would have been better positioned to win a title the next two years with KG over Jordan.  Doc has to coach the team with Jordan, and not KG, so he has to convince Jordan that he's Doc's guy.

Doc is silently still mad at simmons, ainge and wyc.

In the end doc you "quit" on the team.  Just accept it.

I hope the "quitter" chant goes on fire when he visits

Exactly. From a Celtics fan standpoint, I personally wish that deal went through. I think dealing KG for a young, athletic center would've been great, plus we still would've gotten a draft pick and I believe Butler's expiring.

Furthermore, we may have been able to keep Pierce or possibly deal him in a separate trade.

From a practical standpoint, it just seems like in the Brooklyn deal we got a big buffet of question marks. Humph and Wallace may pan out great, they may not.

The draft picks from Brooklyn may be end up being very valuable, they may not.

Haha. That is actually a pretty good description of our entire roster right now.
