Not surprised.  After all, who likes to go through a rebuilding process?

It was better for both parties to part ways....when it was obvious KG and PP were going to be traded.

No hard feelings against Doc.  Perfectly understandable.

The guy doesnt want to go through a rebuild bc he doesnt know how to start from the bottom and climb to success. He is 0-3 in these situations.

He can coach teams that is pre loaded and knows how to massage vet player egos.

Everything worked out for everyone. In the end the truth still is, like simmons said, he quit on the team and he will imo never be considered a premier coach like pops or even vogel.

I think everyone isn't surprised Doc didn't want the rebuild. For me, it was the picture he was painting of Ainge getting what he wanted (with the rebuild) and he just "happened" to be one of the pieces to get moved. He didn't want the rebuild and Ainge obliged. I'm okay with that because you need a coach that's dedicated to take on this type of team.

My opinion on Doc has done a complete 180 over this offseason. I grew up watching Doc at the head of my celtics and I loved the man. But now it seems like he has no devotion to his teams. He left the celtics, I understand that and I'm fine with it, but even now in LA interviews hes talking about how (a team they despise) the Lakers are the greatest franchise in sports. It just seems like he's lost his motivation to coach and be a part of a franchise.

I did not want Doc to go through a rebuild. I think we are good in the coaching and FO department now. The Celtics got a big upgrade at the Coaching position I believe  :D
The beatings will continue until morale improves

He also just said that the Clippers should be better than any team he ever coached  :P I understand that one of his jobs is to sell his team to the media and fans, but I bet some folks in Boston don't like that comment..lol

yea, I'm not too fond of that comment. I'm actually quite angry at that comment...best team he ever coached should be the 07-08 team that WON him a championship.

That's exactly how I feel, but I know what Doc's trying to do. He has a way with words and this will get that fanbase pumped.

If Doc didn't want to rebuild all he had to do was say "Oh no! I don't want that big huge long contract. I don't want to rebuild".  He's a phony

Completely agree. After all he's been through with the C's, that should be his proudest moment. I expected Doc to feel like Pierce when the moves happend, Pierce was stunned and when asked about his new situation he didn't bash either team, he just said "It's not green..." (looking at his jersey). You can tell Paul had a rough time moving, but Doc seems neither happy or upset, he just doesn't seem to care.

I agree with him.  They SHOULD be better than any team he has ever coached.  But, they probably won't be.  They have a lot of talent, but they also have a lot of unused talent.  They would need someone like Jordan to suddenly reach his potential.  He would need Blake to start trying to make the smart play, rather than the highlight play.  etc.

That Clippers team has a TON of talent.  But, I just don't think they will reach their peak for some reason.
