Speculation on our part. But hey, Wallace has proven to be a stand-up guy even when played for Charlotte. Lets just wait until the start of training camp. Although I have this theory:

GWallace is a member of Seal Team Six currently deployed in Syria;  ;D
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

wow thanks for the great news - I hope he never meets them - I have nothing against him, seems to be a good player but he's too old for me, makes way too much money and I want him traded asap for some young kids or some draft picks - I mean ritht now or last week would have been better.  If we're rebuilding, I want it now so I can get to that next championship faster - these old guys eating up cap space are doing NOTHING for the rebuild project.  Don't let the door hit you in the a**.

From that article:

Quote
“I haven’t had much conversation with him. He’s really the only one,” said Ainge. “He’ll be in town, I think, next week.”

The Celtics open camp in Newport, R.I. on Oct. 1. Media day, when all players are typically available to reporters, is one day earlier at the team’s training facility in Waltham.

Now, don’t misconstrue. This doesn’t appear to be any sort of holdout situation. Ainge said it’s often difficult to track down players in the offseason, particularly veterans, noting, “It’s a nightmare trying to get ahold of the players in the summertime. I was the same way when I was a player.”
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Haha. Ainge conveniently omits the fact that he played during the pre-cell phone, pre-Twitter, pre-instagram days. It's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison.

That said, I'm not stressed about Wallace.

Yet.

What's to be stressed about?  I figure he'll report but if he doesn't, does it really matter either way?

For folks like me who spend the offseason dreaming of ways it could actually work out well, yes.

Wallace as veteran backup F could make the team legit and decent during the season.  I mean, he's part of what could do that.

I have a faint hope that he plays himself into positive trade value territory.

  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
Gerald Wallace is my favorite Celtic that hasn't shown up early.

He may be busy in his other profession

"Because there are no fours."
-- Antoine Walker when asked why he shoots so many threes

"We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."

Totally tangential, who knew there were so many Gerald Wallace memes?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's a good player and led that Charlotte team to the playoffs.  He was very good in Portland too. Remember NJ gave up damian lillards pick in the top 5 for Wallace. If he shows up then he wins us an extra 10 games. If he doesnt show then we won't win 20 games.
He'll get his numbers going again here and increase his trade value back up.
Good work ethic and will be a good voice in the locker.

He's not walking from 30 million.
Im assuming he starts at the 4 with Humphries at 5, Green at 3 and Lee/Brooks at 2 with Avery at point.
god horrible team lol.
Wallace will build his value up a bit though.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Yeah but if the team is going to be that bad, wouldn't it just make more sense to start the young guys like Oly and Sully.  Why bother with appearances?  Just play the young guys and be horrible.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I wouldn't read much into it.

If Wallace is still M.I.A. by the time training camp starts, that's when it becomes pretty apparent he doesn't want to be here.

Til then, I think's its a non-story.

I've always been of the belief that athletes should be able to spend their offseason how they wish before they get back into the grind of a new season.
