I can't put my finger on what i think about him.
I could say, that it changes on a yearly basis.
I liked him in pre-trade era, hated him for as long both our teams were considered as contenders, really liked him last year but it was mostly felling sorry for the way his season ended.

I begrudgingly respect Kobe Bryant's game, but I don't like it.  The dude shoots too much for my taste, and I really abhor that hideous purple and gold uniform that he wears.

That's wild--though it might be interesting to note that Kobe played in 80 games that season, while Shaq played about 65 (they "only" won 58).

Definitely glad that infighting ended that partnership. Shaqobe was monstrous.

Actually, I was only using playoff numbers

Ah. Well then.

Anyway, Afro-Kobe was an excellent complement to Shaq (and vice versa).

Mamba Kobe continues to impress me with his singleminded dedication to breaking the scoring record.

  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
I was just watching Bryant's top 10 career plays (I understand how subjective that is) on the youtube and thinking this guy hits these shots and wants his team mates to celebrate him while some folks (Duncan, Bird, etc) want the celebration to be about the fact they just won.

What's that mean? Nothing at the end of the day I guess, but Bryant's continual celebration of himself (recent headline "Kobe Bryant 'Shattered' Timetable For Recovering From Achilles Injury") is just insufferable.

If he were playing for the Bucks or Rockets I might not even care, but the whole LA thing added to his off the charts view of himself just makes me think he's a Richard-head.

Dude can ball but he's a jerk. Given that, Bird could be a jerk too, but...............

I think he's a good player. But not as good as the following players:

Jordan
Bird
Magic
Duncan
Garnett
LeBron
Durant (yes)

You put any one of those players above with Shaq and they'd all probably have 5-6 titles, or more

The Lakers were always mediocre with Kobe as lead - they only won when he had either Shaq or Gasol "in their prime".

And he may not have gotten any rings with Gasol if KG hadn't gone down in 2009 and was still 80 percent in 2010, lost Perkins etc...

If he was smart, he would've managed his ego better, kept Shaq around and then probably would've won another ring or two already.

true that! Kobe has the tendency to drive centers away - Shaq and Dwight

Kobe's a great player but he is kinda overrated in my book.

Afro Kobe was underrated though.

haterespect. Overrated because of popularity but still squeaks into my begrudgingly honest top 10.
