NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith was suspended without pay for five regular-season games by the NBA on Friday for violating the anti-drug program.Smith, coming off offseason surgery on his left knee, will sit out the first five games for which he is eligible and physically able to play. Smith had patella tendon surgery and arthroscopy that will keep him from joining the Knicks when they open training camp late this month.
JR just not smart enough to not get caught.Want to bet Rondo doesn't partake? Many players do, most just don't do it when they know tests are coming.Frankly, it's stupid because those are the rules, otherwise I just couldn't care less.
They don't test very much for recreational drugs, so he probably already had a positive test to get caught in the random compliance testing. If you're smart its easy to avoid, J.R. Smith has never been considered the guy with the best judgment or self-control.

But this is JR we're talking about..lol. The one who is 100% sure the Knicks will be 2014 champs..probably just got done smoking then.
