Still remember where I was when he did this...on-campus apartment, sophomore year of college.  He was good...just a shame with his knee problems.

TP for that video.  Amazing.

How nasty could that duo of him and Grant Hill have been??  Seriously.  Hill's early Orlando years were pretty much wasted.

Wow.  A very quiet ending to his career.

You know, I blame him for San Antonio losing to Miami.  McGrady is the ultimate jinx.  ;)

He and Grant Hill would have been ridiculous together given the age of both at that time. Grant Hill was about to peak when he signed in ORL and got hurt. McGrady did peak there. They would have been a force.

I hope he gets into the Hall of Fame.  With his scoring title, career numbers and all-nba selections, I'm pretty sure he will.  He was a truly great player for many seasons.  I have to admit, for no good reason, I wasn't that big of a fan, even though I respected his ability.  As such, I sort of reveled in his postseason failures even though he was usually magnificent in the postseason.  I feel guilty about that now.  It's just not right that T-Mac retires as sort of a laughingstock, as someone who couldn't win when it "mattered."  T-Mac was one of the unluckiest stars of his generation.  A player like Kobe got to play with great players for most of his career.  T-Mac played mostly with role players and had two great running mates go down with foot or ankle problems.

Never got out of the first round of the playoffs. No college career. No Olympic participation.  No HOF.

I think that is a big point when you are talking about whether or not a guy should make the HOF especially a guy who due to injuries had a very short peak.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

But it's not even correct: he just made it to the Finals, and his team lost in Game 7. That's as close as you can get without actually winning.

He played 31 minutes total in 6 total games.  That is just plain silly talk.

It's the truth, is what it is. He was on the roster. T-Mac made it to the Finals, history will show it.

I'd put him in before Carter. A much brighter peak 10 years ago.

But yeah he's a borderline guy.

They are both borderline, but they'll both probably make it in.
Celtics fan for life.

It's too bad T-Mac wasn't able to have a 2nd half career renaissance like Pierce was able to.  Dude had such a nice all-around game, and if you watch some of his old playoff games, was an underrated defender as well.
