TRADE
Minnesota sends: 10.1, Taj Gibson
Oklahoma City sends: Kyle Korver, Mario Chalmers
Taj Gibson is much more valuable than Korver and Chalmers. Nice move for OKC.
Maybe...
...but I got an additional ball-handler (something I needed) who can defend and knock down the three as well as add an elite three point shooting wing player to round out my guard rotation. This move also allows me to play LeBron at the 4 more
Uh oh
That bold segment scares me
In a good way or a bad way?
Good way for you
Bad way for other teams imo
Well with my last trade, I really accomplished a few things that my team really needed.
One was adding a backup point guard who can knock down threes at an efficient clip (I was going to use 10.1 on an available one, but I preferred Chalmers). I only had LeBron, Monta, and Avery (shaky ball-handler) as guys who were capable of handling the ball. Chalmers is a good addition.
Two was additional outside shooting. There was a time where my team's floor spacing was horrendous and didn't have enough efficient outside shooting. Now with Chalmers, Korver, Battier, Miles, and James on the roster - Bradley, Ellis, Ibaka, and Davis aren't going to have the pressure of being primary floor spacers. Ibaka and Davis can stick to their mid-range games, Ellis can stick to slashing, and Bradley can focus on full-court defense on the opposing point guard and knock down the occasional corner three.
The third - and previously mentioned - was LeBron at the four. He has the speed to blow by slower fours for baskets/draw fouls. He also has the ability to be a playmaker from the post to find shooters around him. He has obviously morphed the real life Miami Heat into a positionless roster because of his ability to do everything well. I wanted to surround him with defenders and shooters and I think I have done a good job at that. It will be about matchups - I think - and depending on the quality of my opponents wing players will determine whether he plays at the 3 or 4.
This is what I was thinking for a rotation...
5 - Jordan (24), Ibaka (18), Davis (6)
4 - Ibaka (16), James (20), Davis (12)
3 - James (18), Battier (20), Korver (10)
2 - Bradley (24), Korver (10), Ellis ( 8 ), Miles (6)
1 - Ellis (28), Chalmers (18), Bradley (2)
James - 38
Ellis - 36
Ibaka - 36
Bradley - 26
Jordan - 24
Battier - 20
Korver - 20
Chalmers - 18
Davis - 18
Miles - 6
