I warned people in my announcement of Lucky to hide your binkies that he was coming for them.

I warned you all.

OKC just went from afterthought to lead contender in two trades and wiped out the talent for role playing bench people all in one fell swoop.

Oh and he still has 2 of the next 5 picks.

That's taking the CB Draft to the woodshed like a red headed stepchild.
Not really, he just took one other GM to the woodshed. Everyone else is collateral damage.
Definitely more accurate statement

Still pretty shocked about the value LA gave up for Rubio and Jeff Green...

Now Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard together with a host of solid role players?

I'm taking my ball and going home.

I wouldn't go that far.  I wouldn't rank OKC at the top of the league just yet.  They've still got Iman Shumpert and DeMar DeRozan as their starting wings, and Taj Gibson is nobody to write home about.

I agree here. Deadly trade for OKC and they get significantly better. But there are no shooters in the starting 5 to create space. Also, to play the flip side of things, Howard could pull what he did last year and have an off year again, while Rose could come back from injury a completely different player. (I dont expect this to happen at all...Just saying its a possibility.)

OKC better hope that Rose doesn't run into any setbacks because Marco Belinelli is their backup PG right now...

I feel like I have already done an entire round's worth of posting on the front page and we are only three picks in

Of course, if you remove the 1st or 2nd best player from any team they are in trouble.

No way around that in the NBA, you can't replace LeBron, Durant, Rose, Westbrook, etc...

Its like losing your QB in the NFL, just changes the entire game.

While yes he has a great team don't get me wrong but still I just laugh at things like this. We felt we needed to make a move to get some depth.
With the NBA you secure you top talent first, then you build depth.

Trading away an all-nba level player for depth will almost always make your team worse. (unless you have two guys of similar talent who can't really play together great 2 PGs for example)

I endorse this statement
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

To a 27 year old, 4 time DPOY, 4 time 1st team All-NBA center*, OKC just added a 24 year old former MVP** and 1 time 1st team All-NBA player***.

That's pretty significant even id DeMar DeRozan is on the team. Chase Budinger will probably start anyway.

*who has not recovered his pre-back-surgery form
**in the most egregious MVP selection since Nash over Garnett/Duncan/Shaq/Nowitzki
***because the MVP has to be on the all-nba team

fixed that for you

There are certainly downsides to the Rose-Howard pairing...

-Play Style concerns (slasher/paint clogger)
-Personality concerns (Rose's me-against-the-world/Howard's please-like-me-everybody)
-Injuries (ACL/back)

We can save discussing those for the playoffs though
2013 CB Draft Champions*: Minnesota Timberwolves
DKC League: Washington Wizards

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
10[8], Hawks select:

Randy Foye
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

For once in his career, Foye won't be blocking playing time from a younger, more promising player.

Thanks! Hit 41% of his 3s last season, so that's useful.

Is there that a big a difference tho between Blake and Dwight at this point? Howard wasn't the same athlete or defender last year. He also didnt want to go to Chicago back in the day. He could've been moved for Noah and other pieces, and teamed up with rose, but he never had Chicago on his list.
