And, for a guy who is seen as better on offense than defense, how is "12 pp36 over the last 3 months of the season" a good thing?

I'm pretty sure Stephenson is seen more as a defense guy than offense. That's the reason there's actually debate over whether Granger should start when he returns because it could potentially be beneficial to have Stephenson's defense in the starting lineup while Granger's offense is utilized as a sixth man role off the bench.

Mod squad selects Lance Stephenson

Eww.  I don't understand this one.

A shooting guard with a history of disciplinary issues who averaged 10.9 points per 36 minutes, with mediocre shooting numbers?

Shooting guard who overcame disciplinary issues to be one of the hardest workers in the lockerroom (well, he still shoots his mouth off a little, particularly at the opposition). Averaged 12 pp36 over the last 3 months of the season, game got better as the season went on, and he started 72 games for the 2nd best team in the East last year. That's more than Eric Gordon, Dion Waiters, or any number of guys previously selected at the 2 have accomplished in the past season.

He held starting opposing 2's to a 12.4 PER, I can't really complain about that from a 22 year old player still finding his ceiling.

Haha.  So, the shooting guard you drafted in the 6th is better / more productive / more accomplished than the shooting guard you drafted in the 4th?

If you don't even believe that, why should anybody else?  And, for a guy who is seen as better on offense than defense, how is "12 pp36 over the last 3 months of the season" a good thing?

I believe that, because its true, you pick Eric Gordon for what he could be, not for what he is.

Or maybe I guess you select him for what he was? He was really good. But Lance Stephenson had the better seaosn last year.

"You've gotta respect a 15-percent 3-point shooter. A guy
like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

Adding defense to the sf/sg spot. Solid shooter and vet off the bench.

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Does anyone want to trade a future first rounder for our coach?

I'll take Al Farouq Aminu for my pick and Brad Stevens for my coach

Stevens is just the third rookie selected thus far.

I like Aminu - highest TRB% of all small forwards. I'd lost confidence that he was going to get out of his own way, but he made real strides last season.
