Initially I would say Barnes seems a bit premature at this stage in the draft, but considering the rest of Evan's roster, that's a solid pick. 76ers looking like a very solid competitor for TOTF.

Every pick is premature to you, rondo.

I'll have you know that I thought Big Val was a steal!
Yeah! Go JV

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Shocked Nene lasted this long. Excellent pickup.

Would've have loved to have seen him a couple of different spots. I thought Nene would've been great alongside LeBron and Ibaka.

I think his foot issues last year and the subsequent rough season (and playing for the Wizards) dropped him off some radars. Still, good pick and roll defender, tough in the paint, a good complement inside. I like him a lot.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Nowitzki, Lee, and Jefferson are bad defenders.

Nowitzki's #61 overall Synergy rating says hello.

You're gonna ruin synergy rankings for the rest of us if you keep doing that.

I seriously disagree that Dirk is a "bad" defender. He really turned it around after Dallas brought in Tyson as his frontcourt mate, and his improvement in D was a big help towards them winning the title in 2011.

http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mavericks/post/_/id/4677951/theres-now-a-capital-d-in-dirk-nowitzki

I'm confident Dirk won't be a defensive liability whatsoever, especially playing alongside Marc Gasol.

I wasn't insulting your frontcourt at all...I hope it didn't come across that way. I actually like that pairing immensely and would really like to see them play together in real life.

My point (since Jordan's defensive abilities were in question) was that Dirk was a bad individual defender in my opinion. I think he has slow defensive feet and has never been a shot alterer/blocker. He does however have a great IQ.

The fact that his defensive metrics (depending on how much stock you put in them) are better when he has an elite defensive center like Chandler (or Gasol) behind him seems obvious. I don't think his metrics rating makes him a better defender, I just think it means he has help.

Haha, yeah I was surprised he lasted until the 4th round.

Yep. And there's plenty of names that I'm still surprised aren't called yet. So not every pick is premature to me   ;)

Oh, no offense taken! I knew you didn't mean any harm. There's been a lot of chatter about Dirk being a defensive liability though, so I felt that it was time to address it.

With the lack of Depth (in my opinion) at the 3 position the 76ers are going with Harrison Barnes
Love it

And with each pick the names on my list just keep getting crossed out into a world of painful disappearance.
That was quite poetic

Its the musician in me.

I have never will nor I ever go for the team of the future, if I don't get voted into the playoffs my goal is always to have players I can point to as being extremely undervalued one the actual season started.

For example, last year I had Damian Lillard and Paul George.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think real life Golden State becomes the 2nd team with all 5 of their starters selected and all within the top 84 picks. Pretty impressive. I think the real life Nets were the first.

Real life Chicago Bulls as well. Rose-butler-deng-boozer-noah

Whoever picked Nene is getting coal in their stocking this year.

He was my pick.  Would have been perfect next to Anderson and George.
