I really like the move for both teams.

Dallas gets what I think is one of the top 4 SFs in the league but Portland already had one of the top 3 top SFs in the league on their roster. Dallas gets rid of a redundant piece in Kirilenko but with Kanter and Kirilenko starting Portland has a more well balanced starting line up, mitigates the problem of Bynum's injury and brings him off the bench or starts him if he is healthy and playing well. Kirilenko is a top notch defensive PF that gives the Trailblazers a nice back line defense given the offense coming from the wings and PG position. Dallas meanwhile gets a very complimentary piece to plug in at SF, their weakest area.

Really well done, win win trade for both sides.

yeah I think Jennings fits real well in that new lineup with JJ at the 2 Melo at the 3, AK at the 4 and Kanter at center. And now you can argue Bynum coming back healthy without it seriously jeopardizing the overall quality of the team. Now if Bynum comes back healthy it propels you to high level contender status.

Well, I don't really like Deng on that roster. I think Deng (SF) is considerably better than Kirilenko (SF) but not on that Portland roster because Deng will be playing a lot of PF minutes. And as a PF, I don't think Deng adds much more than Kirilenko does. I think they are fairly equal as players there.

So from there, Kanter is a huge get. Free money. Everything he brings to the table is a bonus over what they would've got from Deng. And Kanter will have a big role there with A.Bynum's injury problems. He'll contribute a lot.

So I think Portland improved themselves a lot with this deal.

Does it matter in Portland. With AK47 and Carmelo Anthony, either way the Blazers are going to have someone outquicking and performing well on bigger PFs and on defense, AK can guard perimeter 4's or larger 4s and Melo will grab the SFs. If the matchup defensively at the 3 isn't great for Carmelo and the opposition has a low quality offensive PF on the floor, Melo can guard him and AK can guard the SF.

I'm not sure the label of 3 or 4 will matter in Portland.

Pretty even trade for both teams but I agree Portland wins this one. Getting rid of Mullens is a great move and AK is slightly more valueable than Deng.

AK is slightly more valueable than Deng.

I think it's a very even trade, but I disagree strongly with the above.  Deng is the best player in the deal, and is a much better fit for Dallas.

Yeah, I really like that deal for Dallas. I'd hoped to get Deng from Portland, but didn't have the big man that riah wanted.
