  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
It should also be pointed out Lowry is being shopped despite Buycks and Augustin being their PG depth.

And he's still better than those two PG's. I mean no disrespect but it's really a non issue for this team.

SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine

Well there's definitely nothing wrong with having a starting caliber PG as your backup!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Gross. I don't know what to do when you guys actually like a pick.

The problem with Eric Gordon is no matter what situation you put him in, he'll still be Eric Gordon: an inefficient, no-D, glass-kneed petulant manbaby.  (does that help?)

It's fair.

Hahaha, TP.  I'm really not a big fan of Gordon, probably stemming from paying good money to watch him sleepwalk through an NCAA tourney game, but it's great value for the late 4th.

We know where Gordon's highs are, that's the thing with him. You either believe he can get there again, or don't. I think he can, because frankly people have been crapping all over him for 2 and a half years now, so what other option does he have if he ever wants to be anything buy a 'might-have been'.

Jose Calderon

Very difficult choice for our PG situation as we identified multiple candidates well suited for the job. Ultimately, Calderon is an elite playmaker (arguably one of the best) in the league and his proficiency at the pick-and-roll will be nasty with Dirk and Marc (Euro Big 3, anyone?). Plus, Calderon's perimeter shot is butter!

Mile High City selects.

Anderson Varejao

Injuries by darned, he's still a double double machine, can play the 4 or 5 spot, and he's coming off the bench.

I was just thinking he would be perfect with this team (below)

As a sixth man. Someone who can shore up the interior defense. Play alongside either B-Griffin or N-Vucevic. Provide staunch defense, physical toughness and rebounding.

Change nothing and get $58 million anyway?

My biggest concern about Gordon - and I promise I'm not saying this out of gamesmanship - is that he strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn't really love playing basketball but is so ridiculously good at it that of course he keeps going.  Guys like that don't tend to care about legacy much, and now that he's gotten paid he might well just keep mailing it in til retirement.  It's possible he just hates New Orleans, though.  And again, great value for the spot.

And there goes a guy who was very high on my list.  Good choice - he's had other injuries but the blood clot that knocked him out this year isn't likely to affect him going forward.

There would be a time when this team will play Bogut and Andy together on the floor and the fans will have two things in mind.

a.) Interior defense is tough, no one is going to score, nor rebound.

b.) God! They'll go down, at the same time.

But, how about on my team?

Complements N-Vucevic (jump-shot) and B-Griffin (forward skill-level) brilliantly. Vucevic being an Ilgauskas type offensive player to balance Varejao's offensive limitations at PF.

Not so sure about A.Bogut and G.Monroe. Bogut is a good high post passer but lacks a jump-shot so only a so-so high post big. I think spacing will be difficult with Varejao and Bogut on the floor together. I consider Greg Monroe is a work in progress as a power forward and I am not sold on him there. More of an undersized center than a genuine PF at this stage in his career. So not wild about how well those three players work alongside one another. All individually very effective but not so sure about them as combinations.

I would have looked for a different type of backup big behind G-Monroe and A-Bogut. Someone with a true jump-shot and preferably good quickness. Rather than an offensively challenged but top defender/rebounder big man like Varejao.

Varejao is very good value for the fourth round. A steal (if healthy).

Well, if they bang heads I'm pretty sure I know which one will be better off  ;D
