What DON'T you miss from the Pierce/KG (and Doc) era?

Losing to lottery teams was always sucky. We coulda won way more in 2011-12 and 2012-13 but we always blew it to Eastern Conference dumpster teams.

Stagnant offense and Game 7 losses.

Also, too many game 7s but against lesser teams. I mean how on earth did an ordinary team like Philly, drive the Cs to a full 7 games? I think a number of series could have closed out in 6 and then, the older players would have been fresh for a new round.

Horrendous rotations and in game management from one Doc Rivers.

I wont miss watching doc rivers letting the other team score 6 or 7 baskets in a row  to give up a celtic lead! or paul pierce spinning in the lane only to have the ball stripped from him!

I've said this before, but I was tired of watching a team that was sinking to the bottom of the ocean.  Each season we were sinking more and more.  Last year was a terrible season where we lost half our games and we barely made the playoffs.  I wasn't looking forward to another victory lap where they sold tickets based on past glory and the team had no realistic chance of winning a title.

Although we'll be significantly worse this year without our two key players... it's nice to finally get to the very bottom of the ocean.  Now we can maybe jump off the ocean floor (high lotto pick) and start swimming back up.  Tanking is going to stink, but when it's over at least we'll be heading in the right direction again.

Especially 2010. Yeah, I brought that up. That one stings more than 2012 lol.

Mine are:

1. Doc's decisions, including small ball, player minutes, player rotations, and yes, running guys into the ground leading into and during game seven.
2. KG not blocking out.
3. KG not extending for rebounds.
4. KG not being in the post.
5. PP hero ball, to include PP flailing turnovers.

And I have to add I will most miss KG's incredible d and the total effort of the first season, and the second season until KG's injury. We lost 2 more titles that day in Utah.

   Pierce iso plays from just over half court at the end of quarters and games.  He could do that a few years ago but more recently it was pretty ugly.

Seeing KG limping in Game 7 2010 vs LA....seeing Perk on the bench in that Green shirt and dark blazer, looking helpless, as he had just hurt his knee.

Injuries cheated this team out of SO MUCH.

Specifically related to Pierce and KG?  There's nothing I don't miss.

I agree with this sentiment. I read Paul's presser saying that none of them wanted to be part of a rebuild.  I am still not convinced that tearing up the team is going to help my enjoyment...or theirs, either.

 After reading through this thread, it makes me laugh that you think these problems will suddenly disappear.  Will there be no hero ball because Pierce is gone?  or will there be no hero.  Will there be no deficits to overcome?  or will there be no deficits that are overcome.  Will there be no injuries with Pierce and Garnett gone? (one can hope...)  Will there be no small ball?  (Who knows...but that was not the fault of KG, PP, or Doc.  That was the fault of the personnel assembled.  Without PP and KG, and without Doc as a coach, will the team never give up a lead again? 

I guess we will see if this team is so much easier to watch.

I know this isn't the question, but the two things I hope we won't miss with PP and KG gone are the incredible selflessness and defense of the teams of the Big Three Era. 

In an NBA that's become increasingly about the individual, it was a breath of fresh air to see a team who really only cared about winning.  Hopefully that translates to the future; it's always been the Celtic way.  For all the success the Celtics have had in their storied franchise, they've never had someone lead the league in scoring (Tiny Archibald did it, but before his Celtic days).

Did not enjoy Pierce iso's with 6 seconds left last season. Yes he managed to pull a few off; but at no point was it more blatantly obvious that he was a player in decline. That and his careless turnovers.

Hate to break it to folks, but, that's likely to still happen on occasion ...

But I suspect the posters point was that we were a great team, yet we were losing to lottery teams, at home, while sleepwalking through the games.

That's different  and will feel different than being a lottery team, scrambling to play to its capacity, while losing to other lottery teams.
