Here's mine:

1. Torturous games part 1 - early deficits
I found myself still feeling so great being down "just 10", especially towards the end of the era in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.

In retrospect, it does seem like sheer nonchalance was the cause of quite a few of those.

I'm far too familiar with: "Down 10 points, nice effort guys. Keep going. There's still 3 quarters to go!"

2. Torturous games part 2 - blowing leads
On the other end of the spectrum, I've found myself being oh so scared when we have huge leads. Seems like 90% of them get blown, again seemingly due to them just not caring.

The most recent, and perhaps the most representative, was the epic "reverse blowout" against the Hawks. We were mashing and smashing the Hawks. Of course, Rondo's ACL might have remained intact if not for that game.

3. The mid-range shot
Yelp. An entire offense revolving around the worst shot in basketball.

The offense was 15, 16, 17 seconds of pounding the rock and standing and everyone else standing around watching, then 5, 6 seconds of hot potato. No off ball movement, less so without the traitor.

4. Rebounding
The lack thereof. Getting killed on the defensive boards is unbelievable. It sucks it sucks it sucks.

5. Scoring droughts
Incredible. Just a culmination of points 3 and 4. Which makes it suck even harder.

Of course there's good with the bad. Every point above has an endearing, memorable counterpoint and more.

i wont miss rondo pounding the ball into the ground at the 3 point line for 16 seconds and then forcing the celtics to run a play with little time left....oh wait....
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
I get what you're saying, but I'm going to miss pretty much everything those two brought to the team -- especially winning.

As fans, we've been spoiled the past six years watching multiple future HOF'ers, and it's going to be very different without them.  I have a gut feeling it's not going to be that good (although watching Rondo will be fun).

me too.  worst part of this team since Sheed joined.  The BS excuse of 'only the playoffs matter'.

Doc:
- won't miss Doc running old players into the ground
- won't miss Doc being overrated as a coach or getting outcoached
- won't miss Doc allowing other teams to go on massive runs without calling a TO to break the other team's rhythm
- won't watch another year of Doc not being able to install an offense the doesn't stall out every game
- won't miss the 'no offensive rebounding' philosophy
- won't miss the overly-complicated defensive schemes that left our players out of rebounding position.  I mean come on, the Spurs have a pretty sophisticated defense and they hold their own on their defensive boards.  So does Chicago for that matter. why can't we?

I will miss PP and KG though.
