Sure, I'll take Jennings and Drummond.

My opinion as well.

Also his jersey sales has been one of the top in the NBA for the past couple years now.  The whole ****ing NBA. It's beyond me why these people are constantly calling for his trade.  I palm my face every time someone make an ignorant  thread or post for trading him.

And about his OVERBLOWN attitude problem...

Gerry: See, man? That’s the worst attitude I ever heard.

Julius: Attitude reflects leadership, Captain.

This is what i think is going on. Josh Smith maybe took less or asked the Piston before his signing that they try their best to get his best buddy on the same team.

And at worse they got a backup in Jennings but also maybe to try to entice Danny to make a trade with them.

Jennings while a chucker has potential to be a top level pg if he played under control. He is also still very young. He had several games of +15 assist and one 19 assist game last year. Shows you he can definitely pass the ball. In addition he is a very good three point shooter

If the Pistons were willing to take Gerald Wallace, give us a future 1st , i would think about giving up Rondo.  No way Detroit gives us Jennings and Monroe, or just Monroe alone or else it would of been said already.  Jennings and his ability to shoot the three would be interesting to have in the lineup with Bradley, Green, Sully etc.

The ideal scenario would be something like Rondo and Wallace for Jennings and Monroe.
Monroe would be a great new building block for the Celtics.

If the Pistons still want Rondo however, then why couldn't a trade have been worked out this summer?

Like Rondo goes to Detroit, Jennings goes to Boston, Knight goes to Milwaukee.

Could've been a 3 team deal.

Unless Detroit first wanted to start the season and see how Rondo progress from his injury before dealing for him.

Seems to me that EVERY team wants Rondo....EXCEPT the CELTICS......Kobe also said he would take him any day...!!!

im as much in favor of keeping rondo as the next guy, but the other side of the argument you just made is that the celtics are also the only team that has had rondo in their locker room and had to deal with him behind closed doors.

I think teams are just waiting to see how well he recovers...once he does, and starts putting up Rondo numbers again, Danny's phone will ring...a lot.

He's likely talking about the fans. If the Celts didn't want Rondo he'd have been gone a while ago.

A big reason why these trade threads exist is also because these "trade rondo" people realize that rondo is the player with most value out of the whole C's roster. And these are high quality players being discussed, like DMC or Drummond. It's not like people are discussing Rondo for Beasley or something.

Don't trade him unless you get a god back... he's the best PG in the league and he will be for a while (see Stockton, John)

No deal unless it's, at least, this:

Rondo + Wallace + Jordan Crawford and 2015 Clips pick

for

Drummond + Jennings + Villanueva + Singler and 2017 Pistons unprotected 1st round pick

Pistons starting 5: Rondo/KCP/Wallace/Smith/Monroe
Celtics starting 5: Jennings/Lee/Green/Olynyk/Drummond

The Pistons get the best player in the deal (and maybe 2nd in Wallace), and would have the best starting 5. This would lock a top 10 pick for the Cs this season, and I'm not sure if I'd do the trade.

Anything less than that deserves hanging the phone.

Well, Danny did try to deal Rondo for Chris Paul a couple years ago. What killed that deal was the fact that Paul wanted nothing to do with Boston.

I don't think Detroit deals Drummond. I think we'd be lucky to even get Monroe, who I would love to have.

So far in his career he's averaged 14 pts and 9 rbs per game.

Not too shabby. Also, Monroe might be seeking a pretty hefty contract when he hits free agency in a couple years and Detroit might not be able to afford him.

I think in two years, the Celtics would be more likely to give him the money he wants as we will have a lot more cap space then.

Better to build around a productive center than a point guard.

Meanwhile, Detroit will see how their Drummond/Monroe/Smith experiment works as well.

Detroit can want Rondo but unless it's some lopsided deal in favor of the C's, I wouldn't move him.  Jennings is less appealing in a deal than Knight would have been so I don't see anything happening here.

I really like Monroe but we have enough PFs and Monroe isn't really a center.  Drummond has potential but he's not enough to deal Rondo, even with Jennings thrown in.

Trying to trade for CP and wanting to get rid of Rondo are 2 separate things though.
