If anybody is on the fence about joining up, the fact that Roy and I are talking about a fantasy team from four years ago, should convince you.
Or the fact that Rondo and I will lament our loss with a team of Tyson Chandler(DPOY), Paul Millsap, LeBron James(MVP, Finals MVP), Wes Matthews, Brandon Jennings, Mike Miller(Championship winner), Chauncey Billups, Gary Neal, Boris Diaw, Nazr Mohammed and Chris Singleton at least 3-4 times. These drafts are that fun and can be that memorable.

Credit where credit is due, Tyson Chandler was a game-changer. I thought he was a reach at the top of the second round. You need to stop crowing about that bench though, one of the worst in the league. You know there were CB league games where Diaw, Mohammed, and Singleton went a combined 2-14 with 5 rebounds between them.

Was it two years ago now that Nick and I put together the best team in the Modern Era of CB drafts?

Only if the modern era starts after LB33's retirement. That guy was Jackson Pollock of fantasy trades.

We had Chauncey starting but he got hurt. But at voting time Chauncey was coming off his last good healthy season and our bench rotation was Jennings(20PPG scorer), Gray Neal(10 PPG, 41% 3PT%), Diaw(6 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG), Miller(when he came back from injury in the second half of the season 6 PPG, 3 RPG 45% 3PT%) and Mohammed(who did suck). I think that bench was pretty dang good given each only had to play a role given the quality of the starters.

I seem to recall him pulling some mindblowing trades during my first draft in 08. Roy too. You don't see people trade that many first rounders/second rounders anymore.

People have smartened up/grown wiser and become much more conversative with trades.

The '07, '08, and '09 (God help us on that one) drafts were like the Wild, Wild West.

Yeah.  2008 was a fun one.  I had four picks before the mid-second (Amare/Horford/Gay/Igoudala), and the bench wasn't bad, either.

2007 was the first year of the draft, and that was insane.  It was pre-veto, so we saw some truly puzzling trades.  For instance, Luol Deng was a first rounder, and then the guy who drafted him almost immediately traded him and a #3 for a second rounder.

I can't remember my entire team, but I know it had Duncan, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Bargnani, and Scola among its front line.  Rashard Lewis, Mike Dunleavy, Jose Calderon.  I forget the rest, but it was epic at the time.  I just wish I remembered LarBrd33's team, because it was amazing.  (Sadly, we had a forums crash in 2008, which wiped out a ton of great stuff on this blog.)

Back then, I could offer 4 or 5 late picks for a pick in the 6th-8th round and I would get multiple teams asking about it.

Now, not a chance.

Found it
The best part about this game are the trades.   I took over for the GM of the Nets last year in like the 5th round.   His best players were Yao Ming, Michael Redd and Maurice Williams.

I then proceeded to annoy all my fellow GM's obsessively for the next several weeks until I put together this team:

PG - Deron Williams
SG - Rip Hamilton
SF - Andre Iguodala
PF - Chris Bosh
C - Dwight Howard
---
6th Man - Antawn Jamison
7th Man - Raefer Alston

I forget the rest, but the point was... my team would have dominated for the next decade.

LarBrd33 was a mad man. Had no idea how he pulled off some of the trades. It was like having the trade override setting turned on in 2K.

The first two drafts were fun.

BTW, I had D Wade and Bosh in the very first draft in 07. Pat Riley copied me.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

It appears we will be going forward with 24 teams unless for some unexpected reason we get a rash of last minute additional GMs that join the game. So until we do here are the teams that will be competing this year:

EASTERN CONFERENCE
Atlantic
Boston
New York
Brooklyn
Philadelphia

Central
Chicago
Indiana
Cleveland
Detroit

Southeast
Miami
Atlanta
Orlando
Washington

WESTERN CONFERENCE
Southwest
San Antonio
Memphis
Houston
Dallas

Pacific
Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Clippers
Golden State
Phoenix

Northwest

Portland
Oklahoma City
Denver
Minnesota
We might be adding a team depending on how things work out. Any suggestions of East vs West or which team to add.
