I could be mistaken but, I believe that when Wallace was counted on and successful (Cha) He was an aggressive defensive and offensive player that took it to the hole with authority. If this is the case, he would flounder in Brooklyn's system of long periods of non ball movement. With the Nets basically all of his numbers dropped. I honestly believe he could thrive in a motion offense and crash the boards D.

I think the guy is going to give some good production.  He isn't a terrible player by any means...and playing on a lower-tiered team can sometimes inflate numbers, which would in turn help his trade value.  I think he will definitely be shopped around the trade deadline to some team that is looking for that final piece or 2 in order to make a championship run.  If Danny is serious about putting this guy on the trading block in order to get out of his deal as quickly as possible, he will play a good amount of minutes in order to be showcased.  Someone might take him...never know.

As long as he works hard, I'd like him to stick around.  He tries so hard when he is going and would make a great example for the young ones.  If I had an ideal "high level veteran roll players to have on my team for my young guys to play with that could also fit in if we got good" team, it would look like:

PG: Goran Dragic
SG: Tony Allen
SF: Wallace
PF: Bird Man
C: Varejao

In other words, guys who don't hog the ball on offense, work their butts off on defense (well, except Dragic) and make the other guys around them better.  Bonus points if they get injured down the stretch a lot for tanking teams, too.

Gerald Wallace belongs on a team needing that last couple pieces off the bench to go all the way, not a young team headed to the nether regions of the lotto.

He will be gone ASAP. I could see him taking a buyout to join a contender later in the year but if Danny finds a taker, he's gone.

The last three teams he played for, were the Bobcats, the Blazers and the Nets.  It's not like he's only looking to contend.  He'd be perfectly happy playing in Boston, or wherever we may trade him to.  What he doesn't like is being traded three times and watching his playing time deteriorate since becoming an all-star.

Hmmm, good point, he only cares about money. So yeah, hopefully we can find a taker but it's pointless to have the contract around on a terrible team and I'm sure ownership agrees. Get a second rounder if you can

I think it is horrifically unfair to say he ONLY cares about money.  That is ridiculous!!!  I live about 45 minutes from Time Warner Arena where the Bobcats play and GW NEVER took nights off.  NEVER!!!!  How can you say that he only cares about money.  If that were true, he would have stopped busting his butt diving to the floor for loose balls and diligently defending after signing his big contract.  Wallace has NOT done that as MANY in the league have done!!!

Give the guy a break here!!!

Geez man are you like his brother or something. In the context of the business side of things, yes he only cares about money. In the larger picture I'm sure he loves the game. You don't become an all-star not caring about the game. There's nothing wrong with toiling away on a bad team with a nice fat contract. It's a choice is all. If he cared about winning, he's find his way to Miami or something

Right now, it will almost certainly require sending out additional assets to get another team to get another team to accept Wallace's contract.  Arguably, it's not worth losing assets to get rid of Wallace now when he's not blocking anyone or preventing the team from doing other deals.  It's silly to talk about trying to get something useful for Wallace in a salary dump, even something like a second rounder.

Wallace should get playing time on this team.  I WANT him to get playing time.  Wallace's contract becomes more tradable as time passes. And even moreso if he shows his true value -- which I am hoping is better than what he showed in NJ.   Getting rid of Wallace's contract is really the least of what C's fans should worry about.

Patience with Gerald Wallace will bring the Celtics great benefits.  I am pretty sure Confucius said that.

Why in the world would you want Gerald Wallace to get PT? I want him stapled to the bench.

Look we are going to be bad. What's worse than being bad? Watching last year's Brooklyn Nets castoffs stink up the court all year.

When your team stinks the only thing that makes it watchable is watching the youngsters develop. That means Sully, KO, Jeff Greem etc need a million minutes. Not

I want the players who work the hardest and earn it in practice to get playing time, whether they're veterans or rookies.

As much as I'd love to see KO get 30 minutes a game and win ROY, as much as I'd love to see Sully come out and dominate the glass, nothing should be handed to anyone.

Gerald Wallace is a hard-nosed player that I think we'll appreciate once we see him play.  I doubt he'll start, but he'll be in the mix backing up (and alongside) Jeff Green, especially if Sully's still hurting or if KO isn't ready to contribute.

Of all the players we got from BKN I just don't get why people don't like GW, every time I saw the Nets, I thought he was hustling and trying hard even through the bad. I mean, the contract is bad for sure but I think he's entertaining... I REALLY love the hustle players! It's why I really wanted Shav to stay. It's also why I like K Humph... besides not caring about his personal life as long as it's all legal! GW and Bogans will be (should be), good role models for the youngins!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Yikes -- strong opinion. But I disagree.  I too want to watch youngsters develop and think there are plenty of minutes for that (especially given that GWs minutes will be at SF and won't take away much from our youngsters -- I am talking 15-18 MPG).  I am focused on making the most of our assets.  I believe GW can display his value -- but not by sitting on the bench.  It's just an opinion, but I want to see him in games early working hard and showing he's got game enough to draw interest as a player asset.
