  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
1. Rajon Rondo - 13.7 ppg
2. Jeff Green - 12.8 ppg
3. Avery Bradley - 9.2 ppg
4. Jordan Crawford - 9.1 ppg
5. Brandon Bass - 8.7 ppg

We have 2 players that had double digit ppg averages for our team last season.

Granted that all of these numbers will increase because of the scoring void that Pierce/KG left behind, it is still discerning that our team's theoretical best scorer has never averaged more than 14 ppg.

One thing I know for sure - we are in no way going to be an efficient team. Rondo is our the core of our offense and we are not going to score very many points without him. If he gets injured in anyway, we are going to be the worst scoring team in the NBA. We have 2 pure scorers on our team, and they played role player/bench-warmer minutes last season.

These numbers will surely improve, but most likely at the cost of efficiency/FG%.

Hopefully someone steps up in the scoring department and proves himself a leader...

we also added humphries and wallace who will/can average double digits
jeff green will be in the 20 ppg range this season
and "the kids" sully and olynyk should both be around 10

while not great i see this team with 7 guys who can average 10 pts or more a game, even scoring with individuals who can put up big games

also rondo has never pushed in offense, his points generally come within the flow of the game, he can average 20 pts if he shot like westbrook

It isn't just raw point totals, though.

"How" they score is just as important as sheer statistics.

Our only competent half-court scorers are Rondo, Green, Crawford, and Brooks (none of whom are elite excluding Rondo). Nobody else has proven that they can score effectively against NBA competition.

Rondo can create for others, but how exactly would he do that? The majority of his assists were KG pick and pops and Pierce spot ups. None of our players are at the same scoring tier as those two, so by logic Rondo's assists will go to lesser scorers. Lesser scorers gaining more touches will cause less scoring overall. I think that is going to be a huge problem next season.

tp for the idea of half court scoring
i am ALL for tommy ball, we have what should be a good rebounding team, get the rebounds and run RUN, rondo on the break will be wonderful to watch
i've seen many a 1 man fast break the past few years and he holds the play up for the old guys (love them though)
put wallace, humphries and green on wings, bradley and lee leading the pack and/or heading to corner 3's and your trailers sully ko can hit the outside shot
if you can't get a fast break bucket take a good quick shot before the defense can set up
