I REALLY hope there are some big NBA names discovered (ahheem, Lebron) on this list!

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/9508288/biogenesis-whistleblower-broke-open-scandal-says-ncaa-mma-nba-other-athletes-used-clinic-mlb-investigation.

I am aching to hear a report about PED's being passed around in the Miami Heat locker room like popcorn.

I doubt it's anybody big.  If it was, it most likely would have leaked already.

Probably. Too bad though. I suspect there are some NBA guys on "something" just by looking at certain players physique.

Yeah, it's laughable to think that Rashard Lewis is the only player in the NBA who has used PEDs.

Lol! Yup. I think it's prevalent in all four major sports and every league has it's good and bad when it comes to substance use.

Why would you "hope" there are big name players on this list?  All that would serve to do is besmirch the image of the league.

Honestly, this sounds like sour grapes.

Thing is the NBA has the most lax testing of any professional sports league of the top 4 in America. The World Anti-Doping Agency has pointed at the NBA many times for their PED testing holes. If PEDs in the NBA is widespread, it would not surprise me.

Also, does anyone think that Biogenesis or BALCO are the only two companies that creates and distributes these types of drugs? I am 100% positive that there are numerous companies stateside as well as outside the USA that are supplying American athletes with drugs that are against the drug policies of their CBAs as well as those currently not enforcing some PEDs, like HGH and other newly developed PEDs.

I truly question Kobe's miraculous comeback from his last injury where he went overseas to get a "special procedure" and would question him again regarding PEDs if he returns at the start of the season from his Achilles injury.

That's exactly what it is.

It would be awful if any stars in the NBA were linked to PEDs.

Well we know about that procedure and it isn't PED related.  There are multiple NBA players who have had it:

We can raise other questions if we want but that is pretty well known about.

Maybe Gerald Wallace is on the list and we can void his contract . . . .

I think Nick is implying that there were other things in addition to the procedure.

Very true Nick.

I always laugh when these companies are touted as being the only place providing these. Give me an Internet browser and a credit card and I can get steroids in less than 15 minutes. They are everywhere, which is why I compare the war on PED's to the war on drugs; do people think it's a war that can actually be won?

Oh yeah I understand that, but it's baseless if we are going to say it was my point.

I mean if Kobe comes back early in the season from his current injury looking good I'll have some baseless speculation too.

I like to think that PEDs don't enhance a basketball player's ability as much as they do in other sports, but I know that's impossible and not how they work so I guess it's safe to assume they are used in the NBA. I don't want to point at Lebron or Dwight (I guess I just did), to do so would be to follow baseball's lead in suspecting you sport's best players as also it's most nefarious. Unfortunately more than ever sports are about money, the best players will do whatever it takes to win, to earn more money, it becomes especially prevalent when they're surrounded by encouraging forces.

As for Kobe's treatment, if he's able to recuperate from a torn achilles tendon in such a short amount of time, why wouldn't he? At what point shouldn't we all be undergoing this treatment? If there are superior forms of medicine and HGH can be used in a beneficial manner with limited downsides, sooner or later it wont be considered a performance enhancing drug but rather a vitamin that becomes a part of our daily routine. But I guess that's a discussion for another thread.
