I'm going to go ahead and say that the Celtics are more likely to win a title than the Knicks in the next five seasons.

Yes, very probable answer... I have no doubts about that. You think that this Cs team without Pp and Kg can b better than NYK.  You might even think that this team with Faverani and Kardashian can beat HEAT

I think the Celtics can be a contender as early as 2014-2015.  I have a hard time seeing the Knicks as better than a second-round exit.

Outside of Kobe (and anybody else that plays for the Lakers), Carmelo Anthony is my least favorite player in the league. I hate his game, his attitude, his personality, and everything he has done so far in his career.

(Of course, I don't have the intense hatred of the Heat most here, do. I root against the Heat, but I respect them. Melo I don't even respect. I think he's an incredibly overrated, inefficient volume shooter who will never carry a team to a ring.)

Carmelo won't win a ring , till he becomes the older FA signed cheap to Lakers, Heat, Bull , Boston,  OKCto help Lebron or Howard , Rose or Durant get a banner.

He drains to much cap space, and has to shoulder too much of the scoring load.

I'd pass, I want nothing to do with Carmelo...

as some of the above said, save the money for a big for the future

I would agree. No doubt seeing Melo in Boston would be great for "flavor of the month" conversation.

But the truth is, high scoring wings are pretty easy to come by in the NBA and we do already have that in Green (though Green may not be as good a scorer as Melo.)

I'd much rather prefer a Kevin Love, LM Aldridge, Demarcus Cousins, Zach Randolph or Marc Gasol because they fit more of a need for our team.

ok lets say we sign melo (Even though its not even a rumour).
to me its better to place him in PF position to spread the floor(has to work his pnr movement though) and add a C,mostly to protect the rim and rebound (sth like asik)
problem is melo wants to dominate the game most of the time,he likes to isolate not to come off the screens or pnr's

my thoughts though  8)

I'd rather make a run and take a chance on Cousins.

Melo's been a second round looser for years.

Would love to see Cousins with Stevens coaching him. If Stevens is as good as every one thinks he is with getting the best out of players, we'd know pretty quick if Cousins is a franchise type guy.

I was going to say that if we were somehow able to acquire Cousins, then Melo may certainly want to come here - kinda like how KG finally agreed to be traded after we got Ray.

Honestly, Danny should be doing everything he can to get Demarcus without giving up Rondo or Green. EVERYTHING else should be on the table - multiple picks, Sully, AB, whatever. With Rondo, Green, and Demarcus, we surely could lure a top tier talent like Carmelo here.

I hope not.  He is not efficient and is really a loser in the NBA.   Too easy to get in his head and immature.

i think this sums it up but agree with some other posters as well

great inefficient scorer, never appears to be in shape and doesnt' do the little things it takes to win
i voted keep jeff green over him
carmelo = everything that paul pierce isn't so why would we want him?

While I can't stand Melo and what he stands for, I think he would be much more effective with a strong willed distributor like Rondo. Rondo would force Melo to run the system or not give him the ball.

Btw, I love all the people who are like, 'nah, I don't really want Melo.' Are you kidding me? If Melo decided to come here for free and join our current core (or what might be a slightly better core), there are actually people who would pass on him? He is a premier scorer / offensive player in the league. I would love to have him on the Celtics playing with Rondo (and hopefully Green).

Melo's ego will not let him go to Boston; He'll just fade away into oblivion as a good but selfish player with no rings;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;
