Is it because of his basketball abilities, or is it the whole Kardashian business? Little of both?

Probably mostly because of the Kardashian business.
But I don't even think they're together anymore.
Maybe it's his attitude.
I honestly don't care, as long as he rebounds. But I doubt that he'd be here for long..

Humphries' rebounding efficiency has always been great in past few seasons. How about his defense? Is he serviceable as a starting center?

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Well, I don't know how you'd hate a scrappy role player that rebounds with a lot of heart (and is talented enough to have averaged a double double not too long ago).

I think it's probably his contract/the Kardashian stuff.
I like Marcus Smart

Completely the Kardashian stuff, when you add how much of a jackass he's looked in the process.

That aside, I think we'll be happy to have him playing for us from a purely basketball perspective.

My big issues with him...

1. He's had 2 good years in his entire career on 2 very bad Nets teams. The problem is his increase in numbers are almost solely due to an increase in minutes, as his per 36 numbers when he wasn't getting as much time are nearly identical. Some would say he struggled this year for whatever reasons, but in reality he went back to around his career averages in just about every meaningful statistical category.

2. He's never played more than 74 games in a season. In his career, he has played 67, 62, 60, 70, 29, 69, 74, 62, and 65 games in a year. Out of 722 possible regular season games, he's only played 558 (77%). For someone who is only 28 years old, that's not a very good trend.

However, his rebounding %'s are very very good. His defensive rating isn't too bad (career average 106) but the problem with that is, for most of his career, he's been going up against back up big men.

Because of that Rondo skirmish!

Nah just kidding. Revenge was served on Christmas Day.

His contract and his Kardashian side makes me dislike him. But if this guy can rebound the ball, I suppose it's okay. If this guy can't do anything, then I detest him.

Yeah, most people hate the Kardashian stuff, but I could care less about his taste in women, or the scrap with Rondo ... that's just good basketball.

The guy is very talented, and as with many temperamental players, (Jeff Green comes to mind), they just need the right atmosphere and mentoring program to help them find their groove and a home.

Will that happen in Boston?

Dunno, but he certainly has the capabilities ... think I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, and hope for the best.

I was thinking a few days ago that the little skirmish could actually make for some great chemistry between the two, and he could end up Rondo's favorite go-to guy.

You just don't know until it happens, but the guy's no chump on the court.

Primarily because of Kim Kardashian. He looked like a chump back then when they were together; Now its Kanye's turn to look like a chump (oh wait a minute - he already is);

Hump was a solid player even when he just drafted by Utah way back then. I hope he can be that way here
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

He works hard, plays hard, & has poor taste in woman.

Between the white lines, he's a solid add. He's a big who brings toughness & rebounding.  I think his offensive game gets better playing with a guy like Rondo.

He got the contract he has by playing pretty darn good ball. In a contract year, I think he nets a double double for us night in & night out & Ainge ships him somewhere at the deadline for more assets.

Some people here hate Noah, and he fits that description pretty well.

I would've been pretty happy if they had acquired him anytime during the last three seasons solely because of his well-above average rebounding ability.  Looking over his numbers, his offensive and rating ratings and his on court and off court splits, he's not as easy to dismiss as I thought.  Because of his salary and that he hasn't played many meaningful minutes on good teams, it seems like it's going to be hard to trade him for much of anything.

With Humphries, Wallace and hopefully a full season of Sullinger next season, the Celtics should be a good rebounding team on both ends.  That'd be a cruel twist, our biggest weakness over the past three or four seasons that doomed our recent seasons turned into our greatest strength when it's hardly going to matter.

Because Noah's chippy and frustrating for his opponents.

If Hump has some of that chippiness, I'd be fast to embrace him.

I don`t "Keep up with the Kardashians" so I have no idea what went down there. I`m still a bit upset about last season`s altercation with Rondo, but that will pass. Aside from that I can`t claim to know anything about Kris Humphries.
