Favorite Brandon Bass trade.

Just looked at our train wreck of a depth chart and its obvious Bass has got to go.  Yahoo has Bradley as our starting SG and Backup PG at the same time.

My favorite trade for him right now is:

Brandon Bass and Jordan Crawford to the Rockets for Asik.  The money works out perfect.

The Rockets are on record saying they have no plans too trade Asik. Which yes may just be a smoke screen but if they were going too i really see them asking for a lot more. Asik would be great on our team and would really help the development of Sully and KO but idk if Bass and Crawford would be enough compensation

Didn't Bass and Howard play together in Orlando.  Maybe Howard is friends with Bass and wants him in Houston.  When they couldn't get Rondo or Josh Smith, maybe Bass was his consolation prize.

This is about what I expect. Bass would be great for them next to Dwight. He spreads the floor and is a very hard worker on both ends of the court. I get that they don't want to 'dump' Asik, but all they did was sign him as a FA so it's not like they gave up all kinds of assets to get him - they just adjust the 'signing' to somebody who more fits what they need.

I don't know that Asik would be the next great center in Boston, but he would certainly be the starter and would rebound the ball (so would Humphries, I guess, though). The other guard in the deal can really be any of Brooks, Crawford, or Lee.

I really think its a smoke screen too.  With the new CBA nobody in the NBA has the money to pay a backup center 8+ million a year.  And he's not mobile enough to move to the 4 and play with Howard.  They have no choice but to ship him.

Would you include the 2014 Nets 1st rounder in the deal?  that is the one pick we know is going to be late in the 1st round  25+.

Grizzlies lost Darrell Arthur to the Nuggets.  Bass is not as good as Arthur, but he can fill a similar role for them.

I'd love to ship Bass to the Grizz for their TE and a backup point guard prospect.

I'd be okay either way if we trade him (as long as it's for a scrub) or keep him for now. He's an okay piece. He may actually start to build his value.
He's not winning us extra games and he may actually become a more complete player without the hall of famers around him taking all the possessions away from him.
I wonder if he could become a 15/10 guy as a starter? Very possible.
Problem is he takes away time from Sully and Olynyk at the PF spot.
If we do move him I'd like young assets or a late first rounder/prospect + some garbage back to ensure the tank.

It's not yet certain that Olynyk can play NBA-level defense.  It's not certain that Sullinger will be healthy.  It makes sense for the Celtics to have a third-string power forward behind them and I'd rather use Bass than Humphries.

Agreed. He nor his salary are getting in the way of anything else we could be doing at the moment, as well. And as far as trade value, Humphries probably has more.
