Who are you rooting for when the Nets play the Celtics?

If both teams were competing for a championship, it's obvious that the vast majority of fans would select the Celtics.  With the Nets in a "win now" setting, versus the Celtics looking to rebuild a bit, does that change your thinking?

Celtics all the way - love KG and PP, but if they are in the way of us getting banner 18, they are the enemy

but if we cannot even make playoffs next year I want the Nets to kick Miami's behind so PP and KG can get another ring

I want what's best for both teams, ideally.

Thankfully it works out great because I can root for KG and Pierce to win, and the Celtics to have a close, hard fought game where the youngsters show up strong but ultimately add another game to the "L" column, helping our lottery chances.

I'll still root for the C's when they play each other.  versus everyone else, I'll root for Brooklyn.

Don't care much for Deron Williams, but seeing KG/Pierce  put LeBron through the wringer once again will be priceless.  LeBron just can't escape them.

Not for me.

For me, I have really never followed an athlete after they left one of my Boston teams. I wish them well but really don't care about them.

So if KG and Pierce and Ray and Tony and Posey and Doc are elsewhere, if they win, they win, if not, no biggie. I want my team to win.

Maybe I am old school that way but for me, I really am a "The name on the front of the jersey is more important than the name on the back of the jersey" type guy. I never got into the NBA's public relations push of getting fans to be fans of players instead of teams. It just never worked on me.

I root for the Celtics, period.  Even as someone that wouldn't mind tanking and getting a higher pick, I still root for the Celtics. 

And since Boston has Brooklyn's pick next year, all the losses the Nets get are fine.  Now once the playoffs start, I wouldn't mind seeing the Nets do well, but that is a different animal.

I'm ready for rebuild mode and with that said, part of me hopes this team bottoms out this year and we get a high draft pick. I'll be rooting for Pierce and KG in this matchup.

The piddly few games that the Nets play against us won't matter for their championship aspirations (and if it did, they were never contenders in the first place), so I'll be rooting for the C's to win.

The REAL tough question is what I'd do if we met them in the playoffs.

I can't even believe this is a question. Folks jump on Miami fans as being fair weather....what do you call picking another team to beat your supposedly favorite team?

I hope they crush Miami but I wanna whoop them everytime I see them or any other team. I was hoping to see zero votes for the Nets..I didn't. They say the game has changed, the players too, loyalty at an all time low. Looks like the "fans" have followed them.

Always root for the C's.  Against the Heat or the Lakers, sure I'll root for the Nets, but I want the C's to crush them whenever they play.
