  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
crap, was hoping Cle would get out of the lotto this year...

What? That makes no sense.

If Bynum is on the court, the Cavs will be substantially better. He was arguably the best center overall in the league 2 years ago.

Anyone think the Cave are better than Boston right now?

If Bynum plays and plays well, then yes. Otherwise no, not much worse but i'd give the edge to the C's.

Now THAT would make them the eighth seed in my mind. Clear upgrade at almost every position, backup or starter, this summer. Besides chemistry they look pretty good on paper.

Anthony Bennett at the four alongside Bynum in the middle and Kyrie at the point will be a killer combination. So difficult to defend with that combination of skill-sets offensively. Just pair them with two spot up shooters.

Bynum and the Cavaliers agreed to an incentive-laden, two-year contract that could be worth up to $24 million, sources told ESPN. The Cavs hold a team option for the second year of the deal, and only $6 million of the contract is guaranteed, according to sources.

$6 million guaranteed?  That is an absolute steal for the Cavs.  Huge possible reward, little to no risk.

I think this fact speaks volumes about the probability that Bynum can actually contribute. There's no way Cleveland was his first choice, and if it was such a good value you can bet a more attractive team would have offered it to him.

You realize he just missed the entire season and its very likely his career is over right? I'll believe Bynum being a productive force on the court when I see it.

Seems like a nice low-risk gamble for the Cavs.

That roster seems to lack a true starting-caliber SF. And the team lives and dies by Irving. Another injury, and they are back in the lottery again.

Hopefully the cavs have some insurance or some out clause in the contract. I can't see Bynum lasting very long.

I guess this takes them out of the Oden running, which leave the celtics, the spurs, and the heat as the top 3 teams reportedly after him.

The heat re-signed Birdman, but I'm not sure if that impacts their ability to sign Oden at all. I see the Spurs as his best option, with the celtics 2nd. Lot's of pressure in Miami, with no guarantee playing time or much money. Winning a ring is nice, but Greg needs some $$$ and a chance to slowly revive his career.

Could not be a better year for the c's to take a flyer on oden.

I'm going to go ahead and predict that Jermaine O'Neal plays more games than Andrew Bynum next season.

The one hole on Cleveland's bench was that backup five slot. Now with Bynum coming in, the Cavs can slide Varejao back into that 6th man role that he excels in so well and have the best backup center in the league.

G - K.Irving, J.Jack
G - D.Waiters, CJ Miles
F - A.Bennett, A.Gee
F - T.Thompson, E.Clark
C - A.Bynum, A.Varejao, T.Zeller

That is a pretty deep team. 11 deep. Maybe one of the best benches in the league.

If they can get enough games out of A.Bynum, their playoff chances just went way up.
if Waiters & Bennett develop this season and Bynum plays well that roster could go far in the playoffs

Agreed, though it's a lot of risks. I'd love to see the Cavs find real success again though in the post Lebron era
