Knicks are looking to get both Metta World Peace and Elton Brand. Saw this on HoopsHype. That is if Lakers let go MWP. But Im wondering how the Knicks are getting all these players? Will they be over the cap? They have Carmelo, JR Smith, Amare, Chandler, Felton, Bargarni..this Knick team will be tough to beat IF they all play together, but with Melo, MWP, and JR on the same team, not going to happen
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Rumor: Knicks looking to get whoever is willing to sign a minimum contract.

It probably says something about Kenyon Martin that the team hasn't been trying hard to lock him up for next season.

I heard a lot of talk that he was a leader of that team which is hilarious and says a lot.  Late addition and questionable character guy...  No surprise though, Melo is no leader.

They're getting slightly younger without Rasheed/Camby with these two lol.

Man, the Knicks are going to be TERRIBLE next year.

This past season their formula for success was hope Melo and/or Smith get hot, and sign a bunch of efficient/effective role players (J Kidd, Prigioni, Martin, etc.) that can scrap out wins when they're not.

Now, they have lost virtually all of those effective glue guys and replaced them with ... Bargnani. They haven't been able to jettison Amare's corpse. And who knows if Tyson will be healthy this season (he really faded last year).

The East is tougher now, too, with the aspiring Pacers, resurgent Bulls, and half-decent Nets above them. The Knicks took a huge step back.

Makes me think we are good trading partners with them... I'd gladly work with them on a deal centered around Amare and Gerald Wallace to shave a year off of Wallace's contract.

Veteran players always will bring the experience. Remember Dallas 2011 championship team. They had a couple of veterans who leaded this team to the championship triumph. My point is: do not underestimate the presence of veteran skilled players in one team. That’s way a named the trade of PP and KG a horrible mistake and I am 100% that the reality will prove that

To match salaries, the Cs would have to include someone else in the trade, like Humphries. I honestly don't think it would be worth it, unless the Knicks included an  unprotected first rounder or something like that. Amare is done, and has a huge contract that will make trades very difficult. I imagine that Wallace will be better this year, and Humphries has a very tradeable contract.

Even with Wallace on the roster, the Celtics have the potential in terms of cap space and movable expiring contracts to bring in a max contract guy, by free agency or trade, in the summer of 2014.  I wouldn't want to give that up.
