The tank is on with a signing like this one.   Stat wise he is hardly an elite player.  9.3 PPG and 4.5 RPG.

some video of him

He is 6-11 and 233 but looks bigger than that.   Moves decently and I think he could beat out Fab and Colton.  I thought in the video he has soft touch.   But looked lazy at times in the highlights.

Eurobasket says he is 260lbs. I think that is a more up to date listing and the 233lbs is an old listing. He looks 260lbs in the videos.

Referencing Parker being in the 2011 hall of fame doesn't help your argument, he was given that honor well after the spurs took a chance on him.

No. Parker got the nominaton for things done in Euroleague

you gotta get your list updated eugen, most of those guys agreed to contracts already. You also conveniently skipped quoting my statement that most of those big men are not worth the money they are asking.

you also don't know if a number of those guys are better than Faverani. Jermaine Oneal? Seriously? Johan Petro? Ryan Hollins? I'd much rather pay a small salary to a younger guy with some potential and see what he's got.

If this has been said already...my apologies in advance.

This guy will be a back-up to the developing Colton.
Bringing in a guy to help tank is ridiculous when Colton can help with that though I doubt that's the goal. Fab has shown a ceiling. He has hit his head on it in front of Danny a year after Danny saw a kid who needed a lot of work. A year later...the kid still needs a lot of work and we need a back up for our starting young center.

If...IF the role of the 5 is to be setting hard screens, boxing out and giving pause to small people who wanna drive and wrestle with the oppositions 5 then we already got that and with Perk doing not much more than what I just listed we won a title and didn't win one when he was lost for a game 7.

If the offense is some new unseen thing then I have no idea but if they keep it simple (defensive rotations aside...since THAT is the learning curve and would be on the Spanish guys shoulders as much as Coltons)....then this guy is the back-up they imagined Colton would be for Fab but that has been ditched since Fab should back Colton but I think Danny cuts bait in some way with Fab

My bias is totally toward having as much size as possible.  I used to love the battles of the centers in the 80's...Ewing, Hakeem, Parrish, Laimbeer, Kareem...

So keep the 7' guys around.  Look at that list of what we need a 5 to do:  Be 7' tall, mobile, strong, rebound, defend, block.  Quite a few thought that Kwame Brown could help us not that long ago...

And if Melo's ceiling is Kwame Brown, then fine.  He's worth keeping; it's why there's a D-League.  Perk got tons of bench time during his first two seasons, too...fat kid...

And I love Colton Iverson.  I'd love to see him as a backup C on our roster in a Danny Fortson role (but better).

But since I think that both Sully and KO are 4s, it's great to have some legit bangers to move things around in the paint and set screens for Rondo to initiate the offense.

This guy plays Center?  Sign him up.

And sign up Steimsma to start for us for the next couple of seasons, too.  Backed up by Colton/NewGuy.  Melo third string/Maine.

And keep KO at PF, and Sully, too.

Figure out what to do with Bass & Hump (& Lee).

This guy is no joke.  Despite his age, he still has a lot to learn.  His potential is extremely high.  I am not holding my breath after the Datome disappointment, but this would be a huge signing for the Celtics.

Is better this brazilian player than Elton Brand or Okafor? I follow Euroleague. I can tell you that like this brazilian player in Europe we can find 20-30 players much better than him with much better CV.

The celtics have absolutely no use for Okafor or Brand at this stage.  They would have more use bringing back McHale to play PF than either of the two you mentioned.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

You decide that? Any argument by the way?

You're right....maybe even 40 guys better. It's just a wonder that Ainge and his management team can't see it.
