Wiggins.

Wait,  it's not next year yet?

Jabari Parker

I prefer Randle.

If this was 2007 again, and we got the 5th pick with this draft class, it might not feel like the end of the world.
I prefer Aaron Gordon.

Keith Bogans -- I want G.Wallace as starting PF.

I'd like to see Sully start at PF, and KO at C.  That pushes Crash down to backup SF, with Humphries being first big man off the bench.

Something like:

PG: Rajon Rondo, ?
SG: Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee, MarShon Brooks, Jordan Crawford
SF: Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace, Keith Bogans, Kris Joseph
PF: Jared Sullinger, Brandon Bass, Shavlik Randolph, D.J. White
C: Kelly Olynyk, Kris Humphries, Fab Melo

Man, that's a mismatched roster.

I think the main problem I have with that lineup is KO at the 5.  I know we need to get him minutes to develop, but I really wonder if playing him big minutes at the 5 would be bad for his development.  I dont think he is a center in the nba.

Same issue with sully I know.   But maybe flip Sully and KO and have Sully at the 5.  I am more convinced that KO can exploit match ups as a stretch 4 than I am with sully, especially with no kg to help him on D.  KO has no hops, so the bigger shot blocking centers worry me with him.

I really think we need to get at least a journeyman center to plug some minutes at the 5 while sully and KO develop.  I don't really care where Wallace plays.  If he is quick enough to back up green at the 3 great, if not I don't care.  I don't see Wallace in our long term plans.  Kris J at the backup 3 fine.  Let him get some burn and see if he can be trade fodder later.

Steamer says "Hello". And btw fwiw I see Pressey making the squad along with Iverson instead of White and Randolph. Oh and don't forget Datome is likely coming too. Yeah Danny still has a lot of work to do.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Steamer sucks, please no more Steamer coming back to the Celtics ideas... just no.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Crash.

Thr guy plays hard, he's a very good backup. Cant shoot and not really as energetic anymore but against the second unit of opposing teams, he'll do some damage.

I think the roster is still pretty fluid at this point, but going by what we have now, I'd be inclined to go with this starting unit:

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Bass
Humphries

With a second unit of:

Crawford
Lee
Crash
Sully
Olynyk

And a third unit of:

Pressey
Brooks
Joseph
Shav
Iverson

Cut or traded: Melo, White, Bogans

On the first unit, I'll take Sully over Bass (once healthy), but Bass backed up by KO for now.

But if I want to win a game today, I'm starting Bass and going with your starting 5, but might go with Crash at the 4 depending on matchups.

On the second unit, I'll take Brooks over Crawford, but hope neither plays.  I go with Lee.

Melo and Iverson both stay due to size and position.  They're good chips to have in the pipeline.

I like Kris Joseph as a deep bench guy in a Kevin Gamble sort of way.

The non-guaranteed deals of the China men should be traded in a package for Asik, preferably with Courtney Lee.  Or Bass.  Or both Lee and Bass for Lin and Asik, plus the China men.

Final roster (strike-through the "spare parts"):

Rondo/Bradley/Pressey
Bradley/Bogans/Brooks
Green/Crash/Joseph
Bass/Sully/KO
Humphries/Melo/Iverson

Why is it that you think Sully is more formidable as a starter at PF than KO. What scoring options do we even have in our starting 5 besides Green? I say start KO and Bass, Humphries and Sully off bench.

Rondo/Pressey
Bradley/Lee/Crawford
Green/Wallace
Bass/Sully/
Olynyk/Melo/Iverson

Sully for (some) experience and rebounds, and I think he can get some points as a secondary option.  He's a pretty good passer, too.  He was showing himself in the NBA to be a decent defender, too.  KO...not yet.

Together, healthy and experienced, they'll be great starters together.  Until then, neither should start.  Go with Bass (or Crash) and Hump.

Scoring is surely a problem.  Perhaps Crash would be a better starting option for now?

Perhaps someone else should start for Bradley (Brooks?) to get some offense going?

Could Brooks be a Gerald Henderson (jr) type, a very, very poor man's Joe Johnson?  If so, he could be a starter and run the break along with Green and Crash...there's a fast break scoring team...Rondo/Brooks/Green/Crash/KO!

BTW:  Gerald Wallace is on my best offense and best defense lineups on the current roster, FWIW.  Maybe we keep him?
