DA got over Doc very quickly

Danny throws Doc a bone to open the Brad Stevens presser. Now this shows class, but think about it only a guy that thinks he has got a better girl will throw the old girlfriend a bone when he shows up in public with the new girl.

Very very interesting - Danny thinks he got the better younger girl that he had been eyeing all along while dating the old girl he was done with but just could not dump out of loyalty. That girl decides to leave and you do a private fist pump to celebrate.

Doc had become a problem for the Celtics because he could not be fired. There is saying in employment situations 'if you cannot fire them, don't hire them'. Because of the Doc love in the media and around players on the team and off the team he could not be fired without the Celtics taking a public relations hit, and I think Doc played this in the arrogant way he dealt with the team.

Some part of management must be happy to get rid of this albatross.

Excellent analogy. I bet Danny publicly displays his affection for Brad in the coming weeks several times just to make Doc jealous. Danny and Wyc probably talk on the phone every night about how Doc is a huge tease. Brad and Danny will be happy together.

My only question is...why is Doc the girl in this scenario?

I'd get over him quickly too.  He was an overrated coach.  The problems the Celtics had in 2008 were they problems they had in 2013.  He never fixed anything and just used Tom T's Defense.

Other than a few nice plays he wrote up. I was never high on him.

Nice man , good coach, but not in the GREAT category of all time....IMO

He is highly regarded by players and thus able to work with egos and personalities  well.

but he misses the boat and wastes talent

I think you're reading to far into things. Danny just showed respect to his old coach, & that's it.  He was a great coach for us and will be good in L.A.

I think Danny has been wanting to fire Doc for about 2 years now, but needed a big enough reason to do it
