I don't think he got over Doc quickly
I think Danny has been wanting to fire Doc for about 2 years now, but needed a big enough reason to do it
And this past season was a big enough reason

so DA fired doc? Is that why doc did not fulfill his contract?   ::)
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I tend not to pay too much attention or read too much into this OP's posts about Doc. Ogaju always seems to wanna drop a duece on Doc whenever he gets tha chance to.

Whether you wanna believe he "threw Doc a bone" or got over him quickly, Danny still has a job to do. Danny doesn't have time to cry over Doc and eat ice cream while watching "The Notebook" or "Waiting to Exhale". He's been planning and preparing to rebuild this team for a while and this is an exciting time for DA. I do feel tho that while Danny still wanted Doc to coach this team, I think he may have known or felt Doc would have felt some type of way about rebuilding which is why we see Brad Stevens as our coach. He has tha guy he's targeted as a potential coaching hire for a while. I love this coaching hire and I love what Danny is doing.

Because of your obvious hate for Ainge. Danny's been lurking on tha CB forums and saw your constant hate for him and wanted to make you hate him even for releasing Doc and bringing in Brad Stevens. This is more for you than it is for tha C's. You feel special Danny went out of his way for you.

So Danny gave Doc a five year deal in 2011 just so that he could fire him as quickly as possible? How screwed up is that?!

Do not make it personal please. You are saying he has "potential" beacuase of what?! Because of DA hired him? This is the argument? Or you are trying to be always DA's servile?

brad's ears are huge

I was trying to decide whether his ears were huge or his head was small.

You should quote everything instead of what you want to pick at. And just because I support what DA is doing doesn't mean I'm subservient to him or a DA slave. And while I do think he has potential, I didn't say "he has potential". I said he was "targeted as a potential coaching hire". I get that misery loves company but Stevens is a great replacement for Doc and you will realize that sooner or later.

Stevens is a great talent. Very intelligent cat. His resume  and college success should speak for itself. I get that tha NBA is on a whole different level but I don't think Brad Stevens would have left Butler if he didn't feel he could take on this challenge with tha C's. He obviously has confidence in himself and believe in his coaching abilities to do well in Boston. And I don't feel DA would have long targeted him as a replacement for Doc, Let alone hiring him if he didn't feel Stevens would fit tha bill.

Well I think his initial intentions was to keep Doc for a long time. But then figured he's not the right fit for the Celtics

If you were in Danny's position, just imagine paying a guy $7 million for the next 3 years for a coach you've fallen out of interest for

Actually what happened was Doc leveraged KG and PP's comments about him to that five year deal. Doc was an albatross around the neck of the organization. I am glad he is gone, and the Cs have been liberated from an inept coaching philosophy..

Once he was gone, there is no reason not to get over him.
