Quote from: Gainesville Celtic on July 05, 2013, 10:06:14 PMthe only way this makes sense IMO is if DAL thinks that LAL after losing Howard decides to clear the decks and will move P. Gasol for a 1st rounder or something.Calderon is a solid point guard, and that signing won't break the bank. It's a good deal, with or without Gasol (whom the Lakers should totally be unloading, but that's another story).

Quote from: eugen on July 05, 2013, 10:38:51 PMCalderon is underrated PG.to each his own, but:- Calderon is 31 y.o.- DET was something like 8-20 with Calderon (.287 vs. .377 w/o him).- the BEST Toronto did with him as their starter? 41-41 in '07-08My point i guess is he's a nice player, but I don't think a team led by him can ever be sucessful b/c of his awful defense. Even when TOR had him, Bosh, Garbajosa, etc. I never worried about them b/c I knew Rondo would SHRED him.
Calderon is underrated PG.
How is Dallas even gonna fill out a roster? They really don't have many players and the free agent market is drying up very quickly. I thought they should've gone after Big Al but there is almost nothing left out there now.

If he's healthy, he's viable. Wouldn't trust those knees anymore though.

If those knees aren't right, a multi-year contract to Bynum could spell the end of Dirk Nowitzki's Dallas Mavericks career.
