I never lost optimism until it was reported he was going to sign with Houston. What can we do, we rebuild and move on like we always have.

I think its a big mistake on Dwights part. He took a huge hit to his legacy with this one. He really must like being a big fish in a small pond. I had faith in him, looks like I was wrong.

Lakers shouldn't fret.  If they tank, Stern will make sure they get the #1 pick.

I love it. This is a bad start to one of Kobe's last years as a Laker but I enjoy Lakers failures.

I just hope Howard doesn't my city's move to keep improving.

[dang] he is truly an idiot . i was starting to hope for gs. just wait when he has yet to win a ring and is watching the lakers at the top. enjoy that horrific craphole houston lol. man this is going to haunt him most likely as the guy that couldnt take the heat.

tbh i was on the fence about keeping him anyways, the guy is a great defender but an even greater cancer. i do hate to think what happens this season though.

the thought of this idiot long term was a bit scary. he wants to be the number one guy but is not good enough, yet he wants players around him capable of winning rings. good luck being close but not close enough houston.

Normally I would wish a former Laker luck, but in this case, I am not going to. Dwight Howard, you held the Orlando Magic and the city of Orlando hostage with your childish bull[expletive]. Now the people of Los Angeles and fans around the world know how it feels as well. You were here for one year, and in that year you didn't cease your drama. I suppose to you, this is making it up to us as you said you would after you were ejected in Game 4. This is being "all in for LA". You've shown to have an aversion to high expectations and the spotlight. You want to be the man, but aren't willing to accept the pressure that comes along with it. 118 million dollars, the world's greatest basketball franchise at your feet, and the chance to become a legend weren't enough for you. I hope you enjoy your sleepovers and footsie sessions with Parsons and Lin. You've shown to be shortsighted and arrogant. Once you realize Houston isn't your team, I hope you see what you gave up.

I'm the most disappointed in the Lakers FO. While everybody else was making moves, we were putting up billboards and photoshopping Dwight's face. But above all, the hiring of Mike D'Antoni will go down as one of the worst decisions this franchise has made.

I love the Lakers, and I will continue to watch next year when I have time. However, I really am crushed.

I'm done

He's gone, but I believe more and more that the Lakers could've had Dwight stay here if they had made the right moves.

Dwight considered the Lakers a bit more because of the money too. If he felt like there were any chance he could thrive here at all, he would've stayed.

I'm just gonna not check and major media outlet.  The only 2 things I'm checking are Kobe and Dwight's twitter haha

If he wants out, to **** with him

Dwight is attempting to repair his image and this is what happens when he chooses his team. You have AWFUL people around you, Dwight.

I wonder if this is all for show.

Just to make it seem like he really didn't want to leave LA, even though Houston were the frontrunners the entire time.

He just wants you to think that he's retiring so he can be offstage freezing the envelope for Adam Silver

As much as lebrons decision made him a villain, Dwight's lack if professionalism and class will obviously make him the most hated player in the league. Haha. Screw you Dwight.

Haha, alright I'm done. I'm taking a lot of joy in this.

Dwight going to LA depressed me for days, so I'm in celebration mode!

This is great.  I loved the one where it said Dwight was going to be the most hated player in the NBA.

I'm not sure about the rest of the country but I think Howard is going to be pretty popular in Boston next year!

I'm a big fan of anybody that can crush the Lakers in one day.

That being said, you know the Lakers will probably win the Wiggins lottery and sign Lebron next summer, something they wouldn't be able to do if they kept Howard.
