Two names I'd definitely take:

Cousins
DRUMMOND!

Drummond is the next great big man. Watch.

Really with you with Andre. Cousins is tough though. More of a headcase  than Rondo.

I think that Brad Stevens is NOT the coach for Demarcus Cousins. I used to be big in favor of trying to buy low on Cousins, but I don't want to match a young rookie coach with a team whose 2nd best player is a bad seed like him. I also wouldn't want to match Cousins with a team where he wouldn't have strong veteran role models. Lastly, it goes against what we know about Stevens- he prefers (and has flourished) working with high-character team guys over high-talent individual guys.

Since its Rondo back to himself, pretty high.

Things Id want (not all of them, but some combination)
A great prospect or prospects. Talking Derrick Favors, Andre Drummond, etc
Taking back Gerald Wallace's contract
Unprotected draft pick in 2014 for a probable lotto team

I agree with IP. I'd probably do it for cap relief and a 2014 unprotected from a team like Charlotte, Toronto, Orlando, or New Orleans.

That has no chance of happening. Those teams won't trade their pick for anything.

I'd do it for cap relief, a lesser future pick, and a good young big like Favors, Kantor, Drummond, Vucevic

I'm a big Rondo fan. Only reasons I trade him is if he is to hard to coach (popular rumor) or we are doing a long rebuild and his prime will be wasted here (not for his sake).

Not sure what Detroit was offering, but I do have interest in Monroe, I personally don't know enough about Drummond, and as I always say I'll pas on Cousins.

For what it's worth I think Rondo's market value was set on draft night. The 76ers traded holiday and a mid 2nd for Noel and a top five protected 2014 1st. So rondo should yield a B+ young prospect and a protected 1st. For those who think Rondo has more value than holiday remember he is younger, bigger, and has no reported personallity conflicts. They are statistically similare.

My min haul for rando would be a team that takes on Wallace's contract, gives up a young starting level player and a future pick.

2 unrestricted 1st round picks (2014 and 2016 or 2015 and 2017) and taking Bass contract or Lee And Crawford contracts. Problem is no one is going to give you that deal without knowing Rondo is totally healthy and that may never happen. Rondo is really only super valuable when he has his total quickness and speed and he may never get that back. For a penetrating guard even the slightest quickness loss is devastating. For other positions there are other factors.

Yep, and given the Dwight Howard/Josh Smith stakes, it sounds like Drummond, Monroe or Asik are the most likely possibilities.

This after Rondo is officially back to his old self, however long that takes. For the sake of this argument will say that by half way through this season he's right there Avg about 12.0ppg and 10.0apg.

I would want a high lottery pick this year. So I might do something like this, Rondo to Orlando for Afflalo, Vucevic and there 2014 pick. It's a lot but I would never settle on any Rondo deal.

Not a fan of Vucevic.  I'm pretty adamant about having a rim-protector.  Unless you have a guy like Ibaka at PF, I question how you build a good defense around a guy like Vucevic.

Anyway, for your question... I wonder if Rondo and our 1st would be enough to pry the top pick in the draft.  Rondo is a big price to pay to move up ~6-8 spots in most drafts, but for a guy like Wiggins I think that's worth it.

If I had the #1 pick, I don't think I'd do that trade.  If Rondo had three years left on his deal, then sure, I would.  But if I got the #1 pick, I'm probably a terrible team (unless I got REALLY lucky), and one year of Rondo isn't going to make me trade it this year, because that's egg on my face for potentially 20 years if it doesn't work because Rondo walks as a free agent.

Maybe if the Celtics had #3, so instead of Wiggins I'm getting Rondo and Parker or Randle, I would do it, but then if I'm the Celtics, I don't think I make that offer.

Agree with a lot of what you said.  I do think that another team giving up Wiggins for, say, Rondo and a pick in the 8-10 range would be dependent on their ability to sign Rondo to an extension.  If he signs, I think that's a hard deal to turn down - you lose Wiggins, but you gain an in-his-prime Rondo and another player with star-level potential.
Other teams would laugh at us wih this offer.  If wiggins is who they say he is, then nothing short of a top three NBA player (lebron, kd, Paul) gets a teams attention.

Here are some deals I'd be willing to do for Rondo. Pretty much all of them favor the Celtics, but I think given the fact that we don't have to trade Rondo and even if we do we are in no rush to do it, we should have the leverage to get the other team to overpay a bit.

If we aren't getting back at least equal value then we shouldn't trade him and I'd expect Danny to make sure we are only taking calls on deals that he thinks we could get the better of. These probably aren't all realistic, but they'd be my starting point:

Detroit:
Rondo, Wallace for Drummond, Stuckey, Charlie V.
Rondo for Monroe, Knight, Stuckey, Charlie V.

SAC:
Rondo, Lee for Cousins, Salmons, Thomas, Fridette, McCallum
Rondo, Bass for Cousins, Salmons, Patterson, Thomas
Rondo, Lee for Cousins, Salmons, McLemore

ATL:
Rondo for Horford and Schroeder

DAL:
Rondo, Lee, Bass for Marion, Carter, Larkin, Ledo, 2 future firsts
Rondo, Wallace, Lee, Bass for Marion, Carter, Larkin, Ledo, Crowder

ORL:
Rondo for Orlando 2014 first, Vucevic, Harkless, Nelson
Rondo for Orlando 2014 first, Harkless, Nicholson, Turkoglu
Rondo, Wallace for Orlando 2014 first, Nelson, Turkoglu, Harkless
Rondo, Wallace for Orlando 2014 first, Denver 2014 first, Nelson, Turkoglu
Rondo for Orlando 2014 first, Denver 2014, Sixers 2016 first/Orlando 2016 first

CHA:
Rondo, Wallace for Gordon, Sessions, 2015 unprotected pick
Rondo Wallace for Gordon, Sessions, Detroit and Portland 2014 picks (protection probably carries them over to 2015/2016)
Rondo, Wallace for Gordon, Sessions, Kidd-Gilchrist, Detroit/Portland pick
Rondo, Bass, Lee for Gordon Sessions, 2015 unprotected pick, Detroit/Portland 2014 pick

UTAH:
Rondo for Hayward, Burke, Gobert, 2015 first unprotected
Rondo, Wallace for Jefferson, Burke, 2015 first
Rondo for Kanter/Favors, Burke
