This is a prove "plus" proving that DA is out of control and he does not know what hell he is doing. He sent out almostall godd players that we have. Know he presented a ridicoulos coach, for sure not for NBA quality-level ...See the resume of this "coach". Is not a resume for a coach oh NBA team.

Another catastrophic move.  ::)

wow::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Another catastrophic response..as alawys in charge of defending DA

We get it Mario Elie.  You're still mad at Danny.

That's all well and good, just don't complain about it so much.

Wow genius move by DA. We are rebuilding, who cares who the coach is. This could turn out to be a steal. No one saw this coming, not even wojo and I love it. The Celtics were first to announce this which is awesome. The hate on DA is crazy, he did a great job. I'm considering switching my Pierce poster in my house to a custom fathead of Danny Ainge.

Can someone who is familiar with him perhaps give me the rundown on him?

Is he a yeller? a player's coach?  a motivator? defensive or offensive-minded? Woj mentioned he uses analytics, anyone know how that plays a role in his coaching style?

I'd love to just know more.  This is a tough town to be the coach of a professional sport in and 36 is young.  Is this a coach who's only gonna preside over a losing team for the next few seasons or does Ainge see him as a building block of a franchise?

I'll be rooting for him none-the-less.  Welcome to Boston Brad.

Is he M L CARR...the FALL guy...or is he Erik sploestra......or is he just the real deal and DA likes him..?

Let's support him as now he is a CELTIC. Give him a chance before we rake him over the coals. doc got what he deserved. let's give this kid a chance. we may tank for 3 years running. that gives him plenty time to see if he can develop players.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I usually hate college hires but a guy who could take a team of Shelvin Mack and others to back to back finals? Plus coming from the real cradle of college basketball...Celtics could have done ALOT worse.

Brad Stevens may be one of the most underrated but most sought after coaches. Why you may ask, well his resume is outstanding. 139-40 for 5 seasons. The biggest win loss record is 11-4. 11 and 4 in the NCAA tournament with 5 different Butler teams who we all can admit is not as talented as the major programs, with only two players in the 5 years making it to the NBA, and yet still stood tall and once made the National Championship. He also focuses on player developments, has great rotations, and is generally a humble guy who can understand his players well. Stevens is known for a calm, focused coaching style. He spends a lot of time analyzing opponents using statistical analysis, adding new wrinkles to his team's play each game. He puts a strong emphasis on defensive and team oriented basketball. Butler's success against teams with superior athletes has been attributed to Stevens' coaching style and calm demeanor. Stevens has twice been named the Horizon League Coach of the Year and won collegeinsider.com's Hugh Durham Award mid-season honors in January 2009. He has also been both a Hugh Durham Award and Jim Phelan Award finalist all three years of his career. Stevens has been called a coaching prodigy and compared to John Wooden.

I think the hiring is smart because there are a lot of young guys on the team who've been out of college for less than five years.

Stevens is a good candidate for someone who can connect with the guys and get them to play hard.

and who would you have hired?  sounds like you would have tried to add years onto KG's and PP's contracts and blow millions getting some NBA retread coach to waste more money.  Seems like you haven't gotten the memo that we are rebuilding.  Do you think it is still 2009?

I love this move.  It doesn't even matter who coaches us right now, so swing for the fences on a really smart young coach that might be here for the long haul.  I love the move.

Hmmmmmmmm

Don't know what to make of this

Young coach who will get his players to try hard, but will be learning on the job and making rookie mistakes.

Young team with players that will try hard, but will be making a lot of mistakes as they learn.

Seems to me that this is another sign that Rondo's gone.  They'll give the coach a bunch of puppies to raise.

Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the coaching staff rounds out. Would not be surprised to hear some veteran former coaches added to the staff to help Stevens out.

Wow  :o...didnt see this coming!! And theres no way Rondo and Stevens will get along..plus no NBA coaching experience will hurt Stevens

Based upon what?
You don't think an analytically minded coach and Rondo would get along?
What are you basing this assumption upon?
