If you force-feed minutes to Melo, it's possible that he could be so bad that young players such as Sullinger and Olynyk learn bad habits trying to compensate for his flaws.

If tanking is so good and smallball is so horrible, why not go with a full-time smallball lineup with no true center?

For those who think Fab has a shot at developing into a solid player, what exactly are your expectations?

I mean, in the BEST BEST BEST case scenario, I see him being who Deandre Jordan is right now. Low basketball IQ who relies on sheer athletic and physical dominance to get 8/8 with a couple blocks throw in.

I think of him as a 15-minute defensive-minded bench big.  Ian Mahinmi is a comparison that comes to mind in terms of general role and skillset.  His ceiling is higher, but I'd be pretty surprised if he becomes anything above this level.

From what little I've seen he has no offensive ability at all save for dunking.  Defensively he could still help a team but until he can develop an offensive skill or two he's at best an 11th man.  Big year for him coming up.

I predict......he'll need Fab to work with the new bigs under the watchful. eye of the new coach

Maybe he thinks Brad can mold and make something of Fab.......... I mean Doc wasn't interested in anybody but AB  and Sully to a point.

Maybe Fab will still be useful yet, he has had very little opportunity on the NBA court , and is still new to the game period.

Now that the nCeltics aren't going for a banner this year , maybe Fab get the time on the court he needs to develop

He was not a good college player, so I never had much hope for Fab.   His hands are horrible.

I see him as a more athletic Greg Kite at best.

I forgot about him more than I've given up on him. So that
