sometimes I feel like...the NBA off-season is more fun than the actual season.

Clippers have room under hard cap to use full MLE, sign Barnes for $1.48 mil and fill roster with vet mins - if Matt/LAC open to that

Sounds like a plan.

Who gave up the 2nd rounders? I assume the Suns, but haven't seen it anywhere.

Source confirms Bucks will receive two second-round picks in trade, one from the Clippers and one from the Suns.

Wow. Even better deal for the Suns. Dudley and one 2nd for Bledsoe and Butler. Steal.

Oh, Dudley is really nice for LAC. Dudley + Redick is decent but still underwhelming compensation for Bledsoe. I think they would have been better off aiming for one single player who can be a plus starter rather than two strong supporting players.

I think both Dudley and Redick are best suited to bench roles rather than starting spots. I think there is still a fair bit of work to be done there. A Tony Allen type would go a long way to addressing those issues though (issues = high level athleticism on wing, wing defense, possession creation on wing).

Maybe its just me, but I think that's a pretty good haul for Bledsoe. I guess I'm just not as high on him as everyone else is. Dudley is the "3&D" guy every contender needs. Reddick should be very valuable on a Doc run team - JJ's great running off of screens ala Ray Allen.

I think it's proper value for Bledsoe as well, but with the rumors of the Clips refusing to include hi in a deal for KG, as well as the rumor of him and Blake being traded for Dwight, I think people thought Bledsoe was better than he actually is.

The key for the Suns is will they be able to extend Bledsoe, and if so, for how much.  A year of Bledsoe, this is a meh deal.  5 years of reasonably priced Bledsoe makes this a very good deal.  His best years are definitely ahead of him.

We should have given Doc authority on personnel decisions if these are the types of moves he's going to make.  ;) 8)

I just think it is very short term thinking from LAC.

Trading a player with strong long term value for a pair of role players.

They should have gotten (1) someone who has long term value for them in a trade for Bledsoe. Someone young who can be part of their core long term. Or, (2) traded Bledsoe for a single player with greater individual impact (in a larger trade if needs be), a player with star talent ... rather than taking back two role players.

It just looks like really short term thinking from LAC to me.

I would start them both. They have no two guards anyway.

Dragic is a big PG at 6-4 200lbs. He can handle most of the two guard matchups defensively. No point sitting one of your top three players on the team when you have a hole as big as Phoenix does at that SG spot.

Clippers send Bledsoe and Butler to Suns and get back Redick and Dudley in a 3-team deal. Bucks get two 2nd round picks.

Wow great trade for the clippers, got JJ reddick and Jared Dudley, the 3 point shooters they desperately needed. Now there a complete team. Complete contender.
Not sure about a complete contender given their center position, but they are definitely better. Nice trade for LA. Two extremely intelligent players that are good locker room guys. Gotta love that.

I dont see the hate on D.Jordan in these forums.
Last time i checked we won a championship with Kendrick Perkins. Obviously they don't have  07 Garnett but they do have Chris Paul and Blake griffin with Jamal crawford. D.Jordan is not a liability to te clippers.

He can't play in the 4th quarter. That's kind of a big deal. That's a huge hole in their lineup that teams can exploit.

They still have the MLE I think to chase a 4th quarter big.

Until they fill that hole they aren't a complete team. This deal helps though. Those shooters are going to space the floor nicely.

Still think they could have gotten better for Bledsoe and Butler's expiring deal. Solid move. Not the sexy deal I thought it would be, but definitely solid.

So once again let me see the centers of the past champions,

Is Bynum a great free throw shooter? Is kendrick perkins a great free throw shooter, is tyson chandler a great free throw shooter? I dont mention the heat because they dont even play a center.

Deandre Jordan can be a center on a Championship team, idk why there is such hate on these boards of him. No he isn't the first option but on the Clippers hes the 5th option behind CP3, Blake, Jamal, JJ , DJ.

07 was a short term decision for us. Sometimes teams have to make calculated risks. Redick and Dudley for Bledsoe is one.
