Dangle out there that we will take a 2014 unprotected first round pick for him. That will give us 3 firsts this up coming year.

Let me just make sure I have your Rondo stance correct:

You don't think anybody really wants him or is willing to offer much in return for him, but you think we should get rid of him anyway?

Does that sum it up?
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Don't actually take him seriously... He's a proven troll who only makes posts for the sake of entertainment.

I've learned to take him very seriously.

Thanks for the warning, though.

Which teams?

None. He's always been hot garbage.

Locker room cancer. Getting into fights. Arguing with teammates. Not going 110% against the Wizards and the Bobcats of the league, potentially costing us homecourt advantage.

Which is why I've always been an advocate of moving Rondo for Chalmers.

Mario Chalmers can space the floor. So valuable.

We should really do it now before Rondo's value dips any lower.

What about Derek Fisher?!?!? LarBrd33 always talks highly about him! Stud who can play defense and knock down shots? Rather than go through the hassle of negotiating and league approvals and whatnot, just waive Rondo and sign Fisher!

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I really don't get why we traded KG/PP for Wallace (and picks) if we are just going to have to trade [by far] our best player in the middle of his prime to get rid of Wallace.

Please people, don't try to talk yourselves into a trade that doesn't at least include Monroe/Drummond - neither of whom is as good as Rondo. We are not desperate!!

No.

#1 - He's my favorite player to watch on the Celtics
#2 - He's a terrific player and use to be an all-star prior to his ACL injury.  Use to be a top 7 PG.
#3 - He's like a Top 10 PG if he returns healthy
#4 - He's not a franchise player you build a team around... and Boston is looking to bottom out for a 3-5 year rebuild.
#5 - WE are in the midst of a PG boom.  Teams either have guys who are already better than Rondo (Westbrook/Paul/Curry), project to be better than Rondo (Irving), project to be on a par with Rondo (Rubio)...  or project to be slightly worse than Rondo (Lillard) and aren't really in the market for a mild upgrade with attitude problems.
#6 - I think some times would trade for him... but I don't think he's got tremendous trade value.  Bill SImmons estimates that Rondo has the 36th highest trade value in the league.
#7 - I think there are a few teams who potentially would trade for him and potentially would throw some assets at Boston or take on some bad contracts to bring Rondo on board... such as the Pistons and Mavericks.

But how long is that list?  That's my question.  What teams would be interested in Rondo if he became available?  It's a shorter list than you might think.  Lakers, Mavericks, Pistons... who else?

Fisher and Chalmers might be too much. We should see if Sebastian Telfair is available. Maybe get a Telfair/Shannon Brown package?

I believe if Danny was serious about trading Rondo, he would have selected Dennis Schroeder with the 13th pick
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Would i trade Rondo for Fisher in his prime?  No.  You're either slow or intentionally being facetious.

When I bring up Fisher, it's in a specific context.  Teams don't need an amazing PG to win a title.  The last team to win a title with a PG as their best player was Isiah THomas in the late 80s.  Most of the time it's a Steve Kerr or a Ron Harper (not even a PG), a Derrick Fisher, a Mario Chalmers, etc.

So I more say I'd be fine with trading Rondo (if we could get assets for him) and just stick Bradley into the PG spot.  Would I trade Rondo for Bradley?... no.   But Bradley is probably capable of fitting into that role-playing "PG by Default" Derrick Fisher role.  History has proven it's more important to have an elite scorer or an elite big man than an elite playmaking PG.  If you have an elite scorer, the ball can just flow through him anyways.  So dump off Rondo, stick Bradley in the "PG by default" slot.... and  now all we just need to land a Kobe and a Shaq.  Lol.

I'm sure he was just kidding!

But, of course, if we waive Rondo and get D-Fish, maybe D-Fish could attract more free agents.

All jokes :)
