Food for thought:
Andrea Bargnani and Rajon Rondo came into the league in the same season. Rondo has more career rebounds than Bargnani. Rondo only averages 0.3 less rebounds per game than Bargnani.
Moral of this story, size means very little when it comes to rebounding.
Moral of this story, Rondo has played 3,500 more career minutes, and has averaged 2.5 more minutes per game.
What's your point? Mine was there is a 1 foot difference between the two and Rondo is about as good a rebounder as Bargnani.
Another cool Rondo/Bargnani rebounding stat. Rondo had a higher rebound percentage than Bargs in TWO different years.
kozlodoev's point was that Rondo played more minutes and thus got more rebounds...maybe.
Again...what is the point? A 7 foot power forward playing over 30 MPG should NEVER be even close to having a 6 foot PG out rebound him.
Yup. Just trying to clear up his point.
The difference in minutes played probably doesn't matter. Without looking, I would venture to guess that the per minute rebounding of Rondo is similar if not even likely greater than that of Bargnani's.
Bargs has, what, 5 rebs per game?
I have compared Olynyk to Bargs because of their guard in a 7 footer type games. But I wouldn't worry about Olynyk being soft. He's been labeled a competitor and a guy who hustles.
Bargs, on the other hand, is the definition of soft.
If super talented guys like D-Will, Bosh and Bargnani had the mentality of Rondo, they'd be so much better. Or rather if Rondo had their physiques, I'd be so overjoyed.
