Ah, the fun of a rebuild.  You want to hope we suck enough to get a great lotto pick but the competitor in you can't hope but want to still win games, and maybe make some noise.

Lets entertain that second impulse.  What is our best rotation to win games with the players as we stand today?  Of course, I expect personnel to be different come training camp.

PG: Rondo, Bradley (we are going to need scoring at the two so I put Bradley here), Williams  Pressey
SG: Brooks, Lee (I could go either way here), Crawford
SF: Green, Wallace (you could put green at pf if we want to go small)
PF: Humprhies, Sullinger (this changes if sully comes back strong)
C: Olynyk, shav, inversion, melo

Could be a fun team to watch with the right coach. I'm curious to see what others think on possible rotations

I think Lee will be ahead of Brooks on the depth chart. He's entering his prime, and the C's ideally will want to see him scratch his potential, or at least bring back enough trade value where he can be shipped out of town. Keep in mind Doc absolutely toyed with his role last year, and he never got a chance to feel comfortable.

I also think that Wallace sticks with playing the 4, since not only do we need more frontcourt depth, Wallace's lack of athleticism means his game has been entirely reduced to simply being a rebounder and a hustle guy down low.

Olynyk is NBA-ready, but he's going to be coming off the bench for us. His defense is very bad right now, and while it's never going to be great, we can at least ease his improvement by bringing him onto the court against other team's second units.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Start of the season:

PG: Bradley
SG: Lee
SF: Green
PF: Humphries
C : Sullinger

I don't think Olynyk is going to start. Maybe, but Sully/Humps is much better rebounding and talent wise.

Lee gets the nod because he knows the system and is better at defense.

What I would really, really, really like to see is the Celtics picking up a legit PG that can handle the ball well. Someone like CJ Watson or Steve Blake. I don't trust Bradley, T-Will, or Pressey much.
I like Marcus Smart

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
1. Rondo/Pressey/T Will
2. Bradley/Lee/Bogans
3. Green/Wallace/Brooks
4. Sullinger/Bass/Shav
5. Humphries/Olynyk/Melo

However, I think Bass, Lee, Bogans, Wallace and Humphries all have a chance of being dealt
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

It's a very very small team, but I think that your opening day starting five has to be:

Bradley
Lee
Green
Humphries
Sullinger

I guess it will be interesting to watch Humphries and Sullinger combining to form a human bulldozer underneath defensive rebounds.

And just for fun, here's your bizarro patchwork second team:

Crawford
Brooks
Wallace
Bass
Olynyk

ed. TP to syfy9 for saying the exact same thing. Sorry

Honestly, I don't even think Humphries will be on the Opening Day roster. He's too talented to simply give DNPs to, and he has that awkward situation going on with Rondo if they were to share a locker room. At the very least, Boston would do well in swapping for another similar expiring contract such as Richard Jefferson. Boston could most certainly give DNPs to him to allow younger talent the opportunity to see the court (particularly Sully and Olynyk, and Jefferson provides a great veteran presence in the locker room to help nurture the players. Not to mention that GSW could actually use Humphries.

Guys, DA views KO as a 4.   That is a PF not a C.

As far as lockerroom awkwardness, I recall Keyon and Ray Allen getting into an on-court fistfight earlier in their careers.

As far as it goes--of course it's better to have a harmonious team, but these guys are professionals.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Ron Artest is also a professional.

Crazy talk.

Can't play Humphries or Bass and Sullinger too small.
Need to pair Sullinger at Center with Olynyk at PF or Randolf at Center with Humphries/Bass at PF. That is why they got Iverson. Need another 7 footer to pair with all of our undersized PF's.
