Something like this with Portland giving Boston their 1st Charlotte 1st rounder in 2014??

Portland doesn't own a Charlotte pick, Charlotte owns a Portland pick (top-12 protected in 2014-2015, unprotected in 2016).

I got an idea.
How about we keep our best player for a minute here and

1) Wait until he opens his mouth about all this action
2) Wait until he takes the floor (a.k.a, recovers)
3) Not try to let him go at a time where his value is not      anywhere near it's highest

Well, that three ideas, but I like all of them.

TP.

Thank you...I did sneak em in there ;D

Actually its one idea with three thoughts. lol

TP to both of you

Not liking the deal now, off the wagon I go.

Well you could flip Asik to a team in need of a center. For example Portland is looking for one to pair with LMA. Asik for like 2 first round picks?
I would want a pick from each team that would carry over with decreasing protection for 5 years or so.

Btw love to see fans of other teams posting on Celtics blog, great to have different opinions (I assume you are a Rockets fan because of the ClutchCity userename.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
can we kill this thread?

Danny Ainge has denied trying to trade Rajon Rondo, and two league sources corroborated his stance by dismissing a report that the Celtics president discussed a deal that would send Rondo to Dallas.

"The Celtics haven't had any conversations with Dallas about Rondo," said one source. "That's ridiculous. There's no truth to it. What in the world does Dallas have to offer for Rondo?"

A second source refuted the report by pointing to the state of the Mavericks roster.

"They're trying to rebuild around a 37-year-old Dirk Nowitzki," he said. "They have a lot of old expiring contracts, and that's about it."

Danny Ainge June 26th 2013:
"We aren't looking to make any moves and there's nothing big on the horizon. I can't see anything significant happening to our roster or with the guys we have"

24 hours later KG,Terry and Pierce are Nets.

hahaha
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

DA has so many tricks up his sleeves he makes most magicians jealous. I cant and wont believe Rondo isnt on the table until the trade window has closed. You have to imagine his shock at the Nets trade. It may not have sunk in and he may want to see what DA does. If were not contenders (which I doubt we will be) I can imagine him wanting to bolt to play for one. Lets be real, his coach left, his friends left, and he is the ONLY one left of that championship team. Hard to swallow right? It is probably even harder for him.

Yep.  If Rondo rightly figures the C's aren't going to give him a new max deal when the time comes around, better to get to a team that might have that inclination before the time arrives.  We heard one rumbling of Rondo's discontent and he's been silent since, so it could well be that the C's have agreed with his team to do their best to move him now.

Yeah either they were all ready talking, or the Big Russian heard that and said "I wantz". And threw down a bag of #1's down on the table.

DA knows how to NOT talk about moving players while they are in the middle of some thing, or not talk about them to get people wanting them more.

I doubt a trade with Dallas will happen unless they get a third team in. And I don't think it will happen unless DA can't get Smith and or some one else in this summer.

The Fort-Worth Star Telegram says that the Mavs' interest in Rondo depends on signing Dwight Howard first.

A team centered around Rondo and Howard would have some free throw issues.

Sure but late in games, hack a Rondo has never even been tried and the ball will be flowing through Dork's hands, a fantastic FT shooter.

I wonder how much Howard would count on Rondo being there in that situation.  I'd imagine not too much.

I'd be looking at Houston.

Donatas, Terence Jones, greg smith and either lin or asik plus a 1st for Rondo. i bet they'd do it if they had Howard saying he'd want to team up with Rondo and Harden.
