can we kill this thread?

Danny Ainge has denied trying to trade Rajon Rondo, and two league sources corroborated his stance by dismissing a report that the Celtics president discussed a deal that would send Rondo to Dallas.

"The Celtics haven't had any conversations with Dallas about Rondo," said one source. "That's ridiculous. There's no truth to it. What in the world does Dallas have to offer for Rondo?"

A second source refuted the report by pointing to the state of the Mavericks roster.

"They're trying to rebuild around a 37-year-old Dirk Nowitzki," he said. "They have a lot of old expiring contracts, and that's about it."

We can kill this thread if it is a fact that Danny Ainge never lies to the media.

Wait, we trade Rondo and Wallace to Dallas to get rid of a contact we took on to "get rid of" KG and PP. This is crazy talk and I hope Danny has more sense than to get suckered into anything like it.

Dallas is trying to make a run and they need talent to put around Nowitzki. They are not trading Nowitzki why would they need Rondo if they are trading their leading scorer.

Dallas is trying to get Howard and Rondo - why not (they need Rondo to help entice Howard); but they would have to give more than Marion, Larkin and picks. Try Collison (S&T), Marion and picks. How bad do we have to get?
Feeling kind of sick to the stomach myself.

Certainly hope Danny is not lying about not talking to Dallas.

Rondo is not like KG and Pierce who are toward the end of their careers and declining in productivity. Rondo is just hitting his stride.

Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge are boys.

Would an Asik/Lin/T-Rob plus some picks for Rondo/Lee work?

Houston trades their best big man, a developing big and a decent PG for a better PG and a back-up 2.   I suppose if Houston knows they'll be getting DH this trade could work for them, but otherwise, why would they do it?

Asik's and Lin's salaries each hop up to 15M in 2014-15 (hoopshype). Not sure if this helps or hurts Danny's long-term plan.  Asik would have been nice with KG here, but not so much now.

Well you could flip Asik to a team in need of a center. For example Portland is looking for one to pair with LMA. Asik for like 2 first round picks?

I'd rather trade Rondo, Wallace and Lee to the Mavs for Larkin, Ledo, Marion a first round pick or two, and a trade exception.  We go all the way young and maybe Larkin and Ledo turn out to studs.

The problem is, I don't know if that wrecks the Mavs salary cap so they can't get Howard and JSmoove.

If they could run a lineup of Rondo, Lee, Smith, Dirk, and Howard out there, that would be a pretty good offensive team and pretty solid defensively as well.

I got an idea.
How about we keep our best player for a minute here and

1) Wait until he opens his mouth about all this action
2) Wait until he takes the floor (a.k.a, recovers)
3) Not try to let him go at a time where his value is not      anywhere near it's highest

Well, that three ideas, but I like all of them.

Rondo is not happy right now if you have him on this current team he will stress the new head coach out And be a cancer and Danny know that that's one of the reason doc is gone

I like this deal. Charlotte stink. So we could have a shot at 2 top 10 picks next year. I do this in a heartbeat.
