I wouldn't trade Rondo.  He is the final survivor of a Championship team.  You give Rondo away, you become the CLT Bobcats.

I wouldn't trade Rondo for 1st round picks from a mavs team that would then have Rondo, Howard, Nowitzky, and Josh Smith. No way! We already got plenty of picks from the KG, Pierce, and Doc trades. We don't need very late first rounders for our best asset.

I would instead wait until he comes back healthy, raises his value back to pre-injury, and then trade him possibly with a pick or two for a superstar.

Have them take some of our crap contracts and throw in like 2 firsts and theyve got a deal.

I feel this way too but if you want to bottom out we're talking top 5 pick and go all in for next years draft which looks like that's what Dannys doing, you can't do it with Rondo.

We have 3 interesting SG on this squad already with Bradley, Brooks, and Lee.  If we are going to move Rondo I would probably want them to take G.W contract off of our hands in exchange for Marions expiring contract, next years number 1, and sign and trade Collison (gotta get a PG in return)

I would normally agree with this, but for some reason I just think in this case you move faster.  The picks can be combined to move up or for players.

Mayo (S&T), Larkin (draft rights), and their draft picks do intrigue me.

The actual rumor: Dallas targeting anything that resembles a PG.

2014 unprotected, 2016 unprotected, 2018 unprotected, sign and traded OJ Mayo, who knows?

Jae Crowder is also a useful player.

3 more 1st round picks?  I would have to consider that, seeing as it would also help our tanking effort.

Still, ideally you'd like to get some actual players for Rondo . . . . dunno if Crowder and Mayo really cuts it.

EDIT: Also, taking back Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass? What?

Loves it.

That's the thing. Would Danny use Rondo to dump a bunch of contracts while collecting 1st round picks?

I'd want OJ Mayo and a few 1strounders. Along with them taking Wallace's contract if we could.

Also, Danny was rumored to be a big fan of Shane Larkin, who the Mavs suprisingly drafted after people saying for weeks they wanted out of this draft...

Maybe I'm speculating, but this may have legs.

They also traded for Ricky Ledo, using BKN's '14 2nd rounder that we gave them as part of the deal to move up for Olynyk  ;)

This is just my wild bored idea..

Boston Sends: Rajon Rondo/Gerald Wallace/Courtney Lee ($27mill)

Dallas Sends: Shane Larkin/Shawn Marion/Vince Carter/2014 1st/2016 1st ($13.5mill)

I have no idea if Danny, Marc, or even myself would do this but Boston saves a boatload of money and bottoms out. Eats up pretty much all of Dallas's cap so they probably say no though.

Yeah man, if they take Lee and Bass off our hands and give us Larkin and at least a couple 1st round picks, I'd be pretty pleased with that.

I was so annoyed when we missed out on Ledo.

Larkin and Ledo were my two biggest wants :/
If Ainge was high on Larkin, why didn't we draft him?

Sign and Trade Darren Collison for $6 million a year for three years, Bernard James, Vince Carter and an unprotected 2015 for Rondo works.

Celtics then buy out Carter for $2 million and cut James saving a few million this year.
