And I don't want to dump Green and Rondo. I think Danny is on the same page. He would like to lose lots of games this year. But how do you do it behind the scenes. Just hold out Rondo even though he's healthy. Tell the new coach to Play Fab Melo and the new draft picks all the time.

 Suggestions.

Tell Green's dietitian to lace Green's pregame meals with half a sleeping pill each game.

Kill two birds with one stone. Green would be able to work on his stamina and perhaps even skills while playing at a terrible level.

Heck there might be a third bird. If Green oversleeps for the game, Ainge can fine him to make up for lost ticket sales.

We can do this for Sully, Bass, AB and all our remotely productive player. Really stress test all of them and get them super conditioned. Sully might even end up being athletic!

Leave it up to our garbage players to lose and also allow MelOlynyk develop at the same time.

Think about it this team won 41 games this season with rondo and sully out for half the season and with pierce kg and terry.
This year rondo and sully will be out for half a season but we are without pierce kg and terry.
I'm not worried one bit about us being one of the worst teams in the nba this season.

hold rondo and sully out for half the year and see where we are. we will probably be in the cellar. even with them coming bacl it might not be enough to climd out then. adjust accordingly. sit whoever needs to sit.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Obviously keep Rondo out as long as possible and the same goes for Sully. Beyond that I think we should force-feed our young guys minutes and let them learn through making tons of mistakes in the games.

Olynyk, Melo, Sully, Brooks, Crawford, Williams, Randolph, Iverson and whoever else we pick up should be getting serious minutes. Basically trot out the Boston Celtics' D-league affiliate and hope that some of those guys show promise/develop as guys who can be useful going forward.

The big thing is that we need to move anyone who is keeping us afloat if we are truly going for a major tankjob. That means if Green is playing great basketball to start the season, we need to move him. If Bradley is suddenly playing offense AND defense, he needs to be traded. If Rondo comes back and shows he can carry this team, he needs to be traded.

Ideally those guys will play well, but not have enough around them to win games, but if they start to win games they need to be traded. It makes no sense to end up as an 8th seed or at the back end of the lottery. We move them and collect future picks/assets and hope the lottery treats us well.

I think 30 minutes a game of Fab Melo might be enough right there.

Holding Sully out is no way to develop or showcase an asset.  Bass, Rondo, Wallace and Humphries should all go, if possible.  Even if Rondo could somehow just bring back picks and a TE that'd be a good setup for next summer, when I think Danny would want to leap from the lottery to giving his young guys some playoff experience.  If just Rondo and Wallace go, they'll have nobody on the team who has ever been an All-Star.

This year is a time for Jeff Green to become one, and for Sully, Bradley and Olynyk to pump up their stats.  Heck, if they can even rehab some of Fab and Lee's value, that'd be just, well, fab.  Then at least one of their pumped up properties gets paired with a pick or two next summer to bring back at least one legitimate star.

He's surely an ace in the hole for the tanking game.

Start Bass at center.

I just don't know how this theory started that Rondo and Sully will be out half the season. It won't happen. I think Rondo gets traded and this becomes a 20-25 win team.

Start Bass at center.

This only landed us the 16th pick in the draft.

1. Keep Rondo out. Or trade him for picks.
2. Use Bradley at the point.
3. Keep Sully out
4. Play Melo and instead of either rookie big.
5. Play Green no more than 33 minutes in a tight game but play him more in obvious losses so it looks ok
6. Play Lee a lot when he sucks and less when he is hot, like Doc did

That should get us off to a 2-25 start. We need to lose a ton early on purpose and get positioned properly

(God I hate discussing tanking, I think it's cowardly but it seems like we're headed there anyway so there's no point in denying it)

Tanking is not just about losing. Tanking is making sure your assets trade value goes up.

I have seen a tank job already, one here at home with Golden State. And while sure, they are still playing David Lee a ton of minutes, they are also playing guys like Charles Jenkins, Jeremy Tyler, Mickel Gladness a ton of minutes not because they're trying to lose, but they're trying to boost their trade value.

We have Bradley, Sullinger, Olynyk and Brooks. When we tank, we best make sure that these guys are playing at least 25 minutes a game. Either they play bad or great, they need to see the court. We need to boost their trade value so we can trade them and our picks for a higher pick or another high caliber player. Losing is not the priority in tanking, but it does help. The main thing is develop the assets we have.

That's how.
