Yes. Max, Parish and Ainge all finished their careers elsewhere.
Max was traded because I believe Red felt he did not work hard enough to come back from his knee injury.
Didn't Parish leave on his own accord?
Putting Ainge in the category of Pierce and KG is laughable. He was a little bit better than average.
As to the question, Red would never have traded guys like Pierce and KG back then, but he probably would today given how much the league has changed in terms of the CBA, etc. I am not sure a guy like Red would be as great a wheeler dealer in today's game.
There it is... It's hilarious that people are comparing the dealing of Pierce/Garnett to Max/ Ainge/ Henderson. Pierce and Garnett are the Bird/McHale of our generation. He NEVER would have dealt them. Maaaaaaaybe KG... Definitely not Pierce. As much

ANY GM that believes in Celtic Pride and the tradition of this great franchise deals him. Least of all, Red.
Having said all that... Much like the way it's almost impossible to compare players from one era to another... It's almost certain that Red wouldn't be able to function in today's NBA. as a GM
or a coach. It's a different thing now. Imagine someone pulling the tank-to-get-traded routine on his watch... Just picture that
