I'm just saying that in Boston's current situation, tanking is not the best way to go.

I would prefer not to tank, but I think tanking vs not-tanking is a close enough proposition that I can understand how someone would want to go the other way.

I agree. Each has their merits and consequences. It simply depends on what sort of opinions you have. Personally, since I think it's feasible to build around Rondo/Green given this year's and next year's FA pool, I think retooling is smarter since it comes with far lesser risks. At the same time, I understand that the prospect of a franchise changer in 2014 is very, very enticing. Since it's a huge gamble, and we aren't even a lock to get a top 5 lottery pick, I'm very hesitant in pursuing that option. For others, they're more comfortable with gambling with high stakes.
