Besides Cs What Teams are fits for Rondo that can give the Cs fair value?

OJ opted out. He's a free agent this offseason. I remember he said he didn't want to be in Boston anyway. That's what killed the Allen/Mayo trade talks a few trade deadlines back.

Would have to be a seperate sign and trade which might now go over well with the league office.

Hey on the Atlanta idea "Some combination of picks, rookie deal players, and cap space. (They obviously bring back Josh Smith.)" .... Hawks basically have nothing on that roster.  It's like Al Horford and guys with expiring deals.  They are swimming in cap space.   Maybe you could trade Rondo for Al Horford and then flip Horford to another team for draft picks and young prospects. 

My thought process there is... if they bring back Josh Smith and had Rondo, maybe they could sign Dwight Howard... Dwight is slightly redundant with Horford, right?  Since Smith plays PF.

Problem with that is if we landed a prime talent and young, talented center like Horford, I would really hate to move him. IMO, that's a player you build around.

A Tyreke Bradley backcourt is intriguing. Tyreke handles point like his rookie year and guards the SGs. Bradley plays off ball and guards the PGs.

Yup, I agree! That's why I think out of all the ideas the OP presented, I like the Sacramento idea the best.

If we are truly rebuilding, then I think Tyreke and a 2014 1st rd pick from the Kings is exactly what we would need.

You essentially get a young talented, point guard and a possible lottery pick if Sacramento doesn't do well, even with Rondo (which wouldn't totally shock me, the Kings are sorta like the Marlins of the NBA.)

No rondo to sactown unless cousins is the focal point.
Rondo, Bradley, Melo for Cousins, Evans, 2014 first is more of a starting point the the kings probably turn down. Start high. Never know what they'll say.

I think few people accurately gauge the values of players because it is so subjective. As always the answer is somewhere between the people over valuing Rondo and people undervaluing him.

What do you think would be fair value for him.

  His trade value might be exaggerated, his worth to a team is being greatly undervalued. The odds of any of the trades you see bringing back someone who can perform as well in the playoffs as Rondo aren't that great. Then again, plenty of the people who propose these trades would be just as happy with those less dominant players because Rondo being so successful in such an unconventional manner seems to offend their sensibilities.

How about we not trade him? He's a top 5 PG in the prime of his career. Why not rebuild with him as a key piece?

Then again, this is Danny Ainge we are talkng here, so basically Rondo is out. He's too scared to trust his GM'ing skills and rebuild a team with an All Star PG already on the helm so he'd rather trade him and suck some more and rely on luck to be contenders in the future.

This is a ludicrous opinion that no one should take seriously.  Ainge of course rebuilt the celtics once without trading it's lone all-star.  If he trades rondo it's not because he doesn't trust his "GM'ing skills," but because he doesn't believe Rondo's a solid franchise cornerstone. 

And a healthy Rondo won't impact our lottery position.  We're winning less than 30 games regardless.

Sacramento is NOT going to trade Cousins for Rondo, nor should they. It doesn't make any sense to trade your starting center for a starting point guard.

It would be like trading in your DVD player just to get a big stack of DVD's.
