So our rebounding woes have not been solved yet?

This is incorrect.  We will be able to get a lot more rebounds from all the shots Marshon Brooks will miss.

I think Marshon has some potential, he is only two years removed from rookie dom.   I 'd just as soon have a guy like that as well as Crawford.

he shot .46% from the field last year.  He can't shoot threes but he can shoot inside the arc.

The kid can create his own shot.  Better than crazy Crawford.  I am intrigued.

Glad he was included instead of REvans.  As a team in rebuilding mode, MBrooks makes better sense.

Wanted this guy since 2 years he got drafted to the Nets
Can create his own shot, something that wasn't here last year

Call me crazy, he'll be an all star one day

Excuse me for my reckless butchery of your beautiful language. I must admit that sometimes even I (a native of the Netherlands) am prone to mistakes.

I won't really take offense to your witty response, since I was being a bit of a smart-mouth in my edit as well. The warning still stands though; we're trying to keep this site for all audiences, so I appreciate your efforts in keeping your posts clean from here on out.

Cool. We got us a volume shooter.  Will be a nice change of pace from Lee and Bradley who are mainly defense first players. 2013 might be entertaining as Danny will attempt to field the first offense-only lineup in history.

Who will be our coach?  Hopefully a guy who believes in 'lighting up' the scoreboard! ;)

The guys not banned and the Mod can take a joke...very nice.

I don't care much for Marshon but would love a diehard Celts fan like Brown as our coach...since he has been begging for it.

He could have been flipped for an asset from a team that needs a big. Could have meant more firsts rather than a role player Marshon Brooks.

I'm addicted to picks now. The idea of having SO many picks with Ainge drafting is insane.

Although Ainge is probably a hundred times more competent as a GM.

I like MarShon's potential, (liked him at Providence), and he does make a bit more sense for a rebuild, but it's much unproven, thanks to a big decrease in minutes last season ... plus, I've never been crazy about Evans, but he averaged 11.1 rebounds last season, (around 25 mpg), and that's something we need more than scoring. Just saying.

Speaking from longtime experience, Kiorrik is one of the nicest, most easy-going guys on this site, as well as being a mod ... most long-timers will attest to his class and integrity.

Cheers lads. Always a pleasure.

Am I by the way the only one that can't get excited about any of our latest acquisitions yet? I feel like they might be gone before the season starts regardless of how promising they seem...

Just feels like Danny isn't done yet - or maybe I'm still in denial about everything :]

Thinking that the Nets 2016 (maybe) and 2018 picks may be extremely valuable...Garnett and Pierce gone and the team in Cap trouble

Hopefully the rumored  chance to exchange 2017 will be worth excercising

another thread addressed brooks up and down, but to recap those points here:

brooks can score, which is great. but he is a volume shooter who can make some great shots missed with a number of "what was he thinking?!?" shots. you will see good baskets mixed with a distressing number of shots early in the clock, the team out of position for rebounds, passing up an open man, etc.

that is, your typical volume shooter caveat appears here.

and at 3 pointers, he needs to improve quite a bit. at 30% he is among the very worst in the nba at this.

next,....what? what else does he do that is nba level?

he turns the ball over almost as much as he makes assists, 1.4 TO to 1.6 Assists. that is pretty poor.

and his defense? ... maybe no one ever taught him how to play and he can learn in boston. i hope so because he doesnt play defense well at all right now.

after watching boston's defense for the past 5 years, posters here may be pulling their hair out at his defense.

i am glad the celtics got brooks in the trade. he will bring scoring off the bench. but let's not get carried away with our expectations.

my hope is that he will WANT to work and improve, and, that the next celtics coaching staff can teach him how to improve.

but if he doesnt want to learn and change, i dont get my hopes up for him being much more than what folks predicted... a volume shooter who has few nba skills outside of shooting.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
