What do you guys think of trade core of Rondo for Lillard?
Who'd be getting the better of the deal? Should we be adding assets or demanding them?
We are looking to rebuild, while Portland is trying to take a step forward. I think with Rondo, they could make the playoffs and make some noise. A Rondo/LaMarcus pick and roll would be one of the best in the league, along with athletic wings at the 2 and 3. Very potent team.
As for us, I think getting a young, 22 year old ROY would be a good step towards rebuilding. He'd be our centerpiece, and he's arguably a better centerpiece than Rondo. He can shoot, btw. His 3PM last season were 59th all time. Not bad at all for a rookie. He could go in a Tyreke Evans direction or a Stephen Curry direction. His efficiency is pretty bad, but I'm inclined to think that he'll improve. He's a hard working kid, though. Clutch as well. One word that would definitely define him is "poised".
At the very end, I think that...
Rondo + Bradley + Bass
for
Lillard + Matthews + Freeland + Leonard
would be a pretty good haul.
