Stan Van Gundy is my choice.

Think he would be great especially with a young, rebuilding, blue collar team with players who actually listen to their coach. Could see Avery, Sully, and Green especially thriving under him, althouh Rondo would give me a pause

Does anyone really buy these "reports" and "sources" though? Every story gets completely flipped around every day and week. Even during the whole Doc to Clippers deal no one really got the story right until yesterday.

A lot of mud just constantly thrown at the wall

Lionel Hollins
Nate Macmillan
Jerry Sloan
Lawrence Frank
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Obviously, it can take quite awhile to find a coach with a "presidential" pedigree, so I do think it's likely going to be an unproven younger coach or possibly somebody like Larranga from inside the organization.

I do think Danny valued Doc's media savvy though- and his ability to handle the majority of the team's PR, so I wouldn't be surprised if this attribute is again valued highly as Danny calculates who the next coach will be.  Wish we could have somehow knew about Doc's interest in leaving earlier, to have at least been able to have a conversation with Jerry Sloan as an outside chance.

Going by our current president, that could be a guy who shoots .100 on FTs--which might at least make Rondo and Smith feel better about their averages.

Lawrence Frank seems like a good guy, but 'presidential'?

Seems smart. Even though we are rebuilding, Rondo has not established himself as a day to day leader, at least in the classic sense. I'm not saying I think he won't (so settle down Tim), but he is quirky and not always all that outgoing, so you never know.

And we will have a lot of younger guys who won't benefit from having Pierce and KG as mentors or role models.

A solid player development guy seems like a must. How's McMillan on that front?

Oh man, I laughed.

re-player development: He seems to have done a good job with LaMarcus Aldridge, Batum, Rudy Fernandez and Brandon Roy while he was with the Trail Blazers.

It's too bad that George Karl isn't interested in a rebuild, because if we are targeting guys like Robinson, Gilchrist, Jordan, and Smith to run with Rondo, Green, and Bradley, then we are basically building the baby Nuggets.
