What are we going to have to pay him? Anybody have any idea. I'm100% opposed if it is max money.

The suggestion is somewhere around $15 million.

Roy, Josh has been quoted many times as demanding max money. If a max contract truly were given, what size and length of a contract are we looking at?

Josh Smith now says he never asked for a max contract.
Smith spoke to the media following Thursday's practice and refuted earlier reports that he'll be seeking a five-year, $94 million deal this summer. "I never asked for the max. Those words never came out of my mouth," he said, thus making himself slightly more appealing to potential suitors. Smith also went on to say that he has no problem playing out the season in Atlanta and would be willing to re-sign with the Hawks as a free agent. His fate remains unclear with the trade deadline just 90 minutes away.

Do you guys Josh/Rondo's relationship can help make the trade happen? I mean can't he say he only wants to be traded to Boston, or even if it didn't come down to that if he just left on good terms with the Hawks as "Hey, this is where I want to go can you guys help facilitate this trade and get me here."

I'd LOVE to meet the coach that can get through to both Rondo and Smith.

after all the talks this summer of blowing it up and potentially having to suffer 4-5 years of not being able to contend, I would love to see a roster that includes, at the minimum, rondo/Smith/KG. Ainge will find a way to get a solid shooter(s) to spread the floor, and this team would be fun to watch while immediately being able to contend (especially if we keep Green).

If KG does stay, and we acquire Smith, I would like to see Danny bring back TA to be our 2.

A lineup of Rondo/Allen/Green/Smith/KG would arguably be the best defensive team in the league, especially with Bradley coming off the bench which would suit him more IMO. I also think Terry would be more of a vocal point offensively with a new coach. Maybe try and get rid of Lee for another wing or big. I like it.

That is a pretty bad shooting lineup, we need a redick or korver with rondo, green, smith and KG. Makes a lot more sense to me.

If we get a pick from Cleveland we could get Crabbe who can stretch the floor. I think if we bring in Smith and don't rid ourselves of Lee, Terry or Bass we probably won't have the money for Korver or Reddick.

In all fairness, Lee shot 37% from 3pt and Terry shot 37% from 3pt (and upped it to 44% in the playoffs)

Not saying we have to keep these guys, but we have a couple shooters already.

Also, lee would be a terrific fit in the Josh Smith uptempo lineup imo
