Should be a very exciting draft.  Everyone on the team is on the table.  If you are willing to send us expiring contracts, trade exceptions and draft picks you can have the entire roster.

Do you have a link to someone on the Celts claiming this? Even a shred of evidence that this is even being considered?

And do you really think there is someone that Danny wouldn't be willing to trade for the right deal, given that he's clearly trying to trade KG and Pierce and has in healthier times tried to trade Rondo?

There's a difference between "the right deal" and a fire sale. Of course everyone on the team's always been available if the price was right, he just wants the Celts to get rid of all of their players in the hopes of losing 60 games a year.

At the moment I don't know if there is a deal out there that would entice KG to drop his no trade clause, possibly around deadline time something will occur, Pierce as I have always thought will move on for a free agent player in a sign and trade scenario.

I don't think there's any evidence that we're tanking yet. It might happen, but it's not a given based on what's been happening.

Yep, depending on what happens will indicate the amount of tankage that is going to happen.

Garnett has already said he doesn't want to play for a coach not named Doc Rivers. I don't see him coming back next year.

There were rumors put out there from when the Clippers talks started to die down, saying that KG would have went there even without Rivers. I bet once they trade Pierce, KG expands the list of teams he would waive his no trade clause for.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yes, I'm fully aware that Garnett's loyalty to Pierce and Doc likely means he's not coming back if they're out the door. However, whether he's retiring or waiving his no-trade clause is a different issue.

I don't know that it's a guarantee that KG's play is tied to PP being here, it's not like he got too worked up about Ray leaving. But even if he retires they could trade him before he files the paperwork and grab a fairly pricey player.

It's different. Ray Allen left when he could have stayed. Loyalty isn't a one-way street, you know.

And yes, Garnett got pretty worked up about that, by the way.

Hope so, maybe we could get some decent assets for at least one of them.

If the Cavs are really willing to give us a trade exception for Pierce, I'd probably take it.

I am sick that this off-season is going the way it is.  I wanted the band back.  The cap space that could have been had a year or two from now is just too good to pass up.

But, if the trade exception can net us a FA through S&T this off-season, at this point, you have to take it.

Try to then work a three team deal with the Clips and Sacto to bring Cousins to Boston.  Sign Smith with trade exception through a S&T.

I'd roll with Cousins, Smith, Green, SG, Rondo.  That might be pretty good actually.

There are a few things about the supposed cap space we could get.

1. a top flight free agent from another team has never signed here
2. Free agent classes always look good a few years out and dwindle as players resign with their old teams
3.  If we want a top notch guy we would probably have to give up Green or Rondo, which is fine, but I don't se a scenario in which we could have Rondo, Green and max contract guy.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Pretty worked up in the sense that, as a free agent, he didn't look at offers from other teams and signed a fairly friendly contract with the team.

I could see KG go back to Minnesota and make it to the playoffs.
That would be a nice thing to do to end his career.
